    speedo drive gear

Just taken my speedo drive apart to find out why its not working and found the plastic lugs on the drive wheel have partially worn away - anyone know if its possible to source just this part or do i have to get the whole unit - my usually suppliers here in france want 120 euros for the whole unit - that seems just plan silly to me!

if not i will get myself an electronic computer thingy (magnet drive) - pity tho as I have just fitted some nearly new original clocks

    Hi,
The plastic spedo drive can be bought separate from The UK’s biggest choice of motorcycle parts for Japanese and European machines. for about a tenner, make sure you give it a good cleaning with a degreaser and perhaps some compressed air and then lube well with white grease before putting it back together
her, they do tend to get pretty cloged up with grity s**t hope this helps.

    Tony.
GOD grant me the serenity to put up with all this normality

    Tony.

The link takes me straight to wemotos which I did check previously for the part - any idea where I would find this part on their site? Its not listed uner xr400 bits

Did pull apart the old drive gear and yes was really clogged up with all sorts of s---t - i think this may have cause the problem.

    Thanks
