    getting rid of the XR

Well made the decision today, me and a workmate took both my bikes out the XR and the GASgas, he's got a ZX10 and is thinking about going over to offroading so we went out and did a few lanes for an hour or 2.

I have been thinknig about selling the XR now i have the GASgas aswell but today i made the decision the XR is................................................ .................................................. .................................................. .................................................. ...........................

....Definatly STAYING AND IS NOT BEING GOT RID OF.

Mainly on the grounds that the gasgas ran out of fuel (from a full tank ) in an hour and a quarter and was not being riden really hard. It was however tastefully towed home by my mate riding the mighty XR

Had the same thing happen to me after getting off my XR and then getting on the Gasgas 300, bike ran out 50 miles from a full tank!!, Im used to nearly 200 on the xr, ended up getting a bigger clarke tank for it which extends the range to nearly 90, which is more acceptable.

im also thinking about selling the Xr as whats the point of having 2 bikes that do the same job?

I already have a 4gallon Clarke tank for the Xr and don't really want to buy another one for The GAsgas as it's mainly going to be used for hare n' hounds anyway. OUt of curiosity where did you get your tank from anf how much was it. I did consider another tank and found these links but don't really want to spend the money on something that won't get used that much

Re: getting rid of the XR

This is where i got mine from.

Gas Gas 125/200/250/300 Clarke Fuel Tank:eBay Motors (item 380128896679 end time Aug-31-09 10:42:34 PDT)

USA ebay, $125 so with postage worked out cheaper than a £100, and took about 10 days to reach me.

The difference it makes in H+H is with the standard tank you fill up twice on a 3hr race and with the larger tank you fill up once. And then you dont have to keep catching up and passing the same poeple after every time you pit. And it makes it much more bearable trailriding.

I also have a 4,6gal on my xr and wasnt going to bother with the larger tank for the Gasgas, as was going to use the gasgas for racing and the xr for trailriding, but the gasgas is so much more fun even trailriding than the xr, plus it is alot easier to start after dropping than the xr600
