    250 cuts out

    Hi

Im having problems getting my bike to run, I can get it to start after a bit of trying, but it just runs for a couple seconds. I've taken the carb off, and checked the float bowl moves freely, and everything inside the carb looks nice and clean. The plug is also clean, and not being fouled.

    What else can I try?

    Many Thanks
    Ed

clean out the jets sounds like fuel starvation
may look clean but remove them and blow them out anyway

Do the jets, just unscrew or pull out?

    Thanks

All of the above is solid advice, suggest you spend 2 quid and install an inline fuel filter too. Is your petrol tank clean? When was the last time you took it off the bike and gave it a good cleaning? Sometimes, older models have crap in the bottom, when you hit reserve and if you ever run dry, all that ****e gets in your jets and lines. Make sure your plug gap spacing is correct as well.

    Re: 250 cuts out

thanks for all the advice guys, HUGE help!!

I will definitely be putting a inline fuel filter in. When I can get home from work early enough to have some day light, I will take the carb off, and clean everything. It looks pretty clean, but I didn't inspect the jets.

The inside of the tank should be very clean. It's a large plastic acerbis tank, and I cleaned it out when I took ownership of the bike, I might fit some clear fuel lines to the bike, So i can see the fuel going through.

    Thanks
    Ed
