been offered some crf450 supermoto wheels black exel rims talon hubs with tyres discs and caliper adaptor £180 will they fit? i know i may have to change the barings and have a caliper bracket made to suit the xr600 forks n caliper but other than that?
you just need a set of rims with the same number of spoke holes on your bike , and sme new spokes making up to suit
id suggest a 3.50 x 17 front rim , and a 4,25 x 17 rear rim

I've just bought a 2002 XR650R that has 17" road wheels and also standard wheels. What difference in speedo reading is there with the smaller wheels? I'm assuming as a smaller wheel will do more rotations that indicated speed will be higher. Both wheels also have there own rear sprockets. I'm again assuming the smaller road biased rear will have less teeth to upgear it whilst leaving the front alone?
Anybody know how much different?
Measure the circumference of both front tyres, the percentage difference between them is transfered to the speedo.
Yes the 17" rear will need a smaller sprocket.
It's easiest to have 2 chain's, . . one for each set of wheel's.
My xr600 speedo reads in kilometers per hour and with SM wheels fitted the the indicated kph is double the mph, ie, 100kph = 50mph approx.
Airwolf,
Many Thanks
