Exclamation XR400 niggles...please help me guys!

    Hi guys,
Haven't posted much since I regiestered cause I've been out enjoying my XR400, and I've gotta say it's awesome!! A couple of things I can't get my head around though....

When I've been riding around for a while [engine warm] when I come to a stop and then go to pull away, the engine cuts out as if the throttle is choking it

Also, when starting, it seems that it works best if you put the choke on full, give it one good kick, and then AS SOON as it catches taking the choke off and letting it idle - for some reason it hates having the chooke kept on?

Sorry if I'm sounding a bit dim but my last bikes were a KMX125, Bandit 400V and Bandit 1200 so I'm still getting used to singles!

    Cheers guys,

    Dan

I knock the choke off straight away also and then just hold it on fast idle with the throttle. When it gets colder mind I usually turn up the idler screw a bit until its warmed up. Its an XR quirk I think, although as I have said before they all seem different.
The cut out I dont know except for the other day mine was cutting out when tight turning The handguards had moved slightly and was pinching the decompressor cable, just a thought.

Mines the same, not using choke at all at the moment must be the warmer milder weather we've had recently, pissed down all day to day though
