engine/frame bolts and paint

any1 know were i could get a full nut and bolt kit for the xr400 frame and engine, also has any1 took there brake calipers off and painted? if so what paint is best? thanks

Best to get the calipers anodized, brake fluid will take off any paint. I did try using Halfords Brake Caliper aerosol paint and despite what it said on the tin (ie brake caliper paint) first drip of fluid and yes the paint blobbed and peeled.

Unfortunately the quality of the alloy used for Jap bikes is not that good where you would get good results from anodising-and especially not the cast alloy used for calipers.Brembo machine their Monobloc radial calipers for the likes of Rossi from billet material and then get a nice finish when anodised in bronze.
