    Re: Front sprocket

    Isn't 13t front and 48t rear the standard gearing = 3.69 as a ratio?

a 14t front with 48t rear would alter the ratio to 3.43

Putting a 44t on the rear instead of a 14t on the front would give a similar ratio (3.39) and you could keep the 13t front sprocket and case saver and guard on

in other words....1 tooth up on the front = around the same as 3 or 4 teeth less on the back

    Re: Front sprocket

OK guys, 14 tooth front on with case saver in place, had to leave off the chain/sprocket guard but atleast ive still got the case saver in place. With the 38 tooth rear sprocket on aswell she positivly flies on the way to work now, looking at a realistic 65-70 mph cruising speed, but I keep it down to a comfortable 60 so Ive got abit in reserve for them little overtakes that you just have to do.
Head wind seems to be the only limiting factor as to the top speed but I had 75mph on the way home today and still had a quarter of a turn left on the throttle.
