I had a complete DEP sport system on mine for a while from xrstuff sold it in the end and put the original honda pipes back on the quality was far superior in the original pipes but the DEP Pipes were alot lighter and the can was more oval and had a bigger cross sectional area than theoriginal can which meant it could get damaged easier if dropped hard on that side and it was only Aluminium so was soft compared to the original.

you could try FMF they do complete systems
White brothers racing (just been bought by Vance and Hines)
    Arrow
    Honda XR400 Exhaust Header Pipe

    The list goes on

As I said the FMF is far lighter and is made of aircraft grade ALUMINIUM ALLOY, not aluminium, (which is very soft). It is also very nicely made and repackable by removing allen headed screws NOT rivets as many manufacturers use. I decided to open mine up after 4 hard years of use and it didn't really need new packing, the quality of the original design means it does not get blown out like many 'straight through' and hence, noisier silencers.
When I bought a FMF 'Q' silencer for a Suzuki DRZ 400 many years ago, I spoke to the importer at 'Rush Racing'. This machine also had a very noisy standard steel silencer, I asked him if it was worth buying the whole system as well including front pipe, as the 'Power Bomb Header' manifold was new at the time. He was honest and said on a standard bike, the front pipe would make the last 5% of the improvement and you would hardly notice any difference between that and the standard front pipe.

PS I have no affiliation to FMF, I just appreciate a quality component when I see one, that improves on existing items.

    Hmmmm....

    Round or Oval,

    Aluminium or Aluminium Alloy,

    Heavy or Light,

    But which is best?...

Not the best of pictures of the DEP oval bodied silencer on my XR400 as it was at the end of a special stage up in Wales...but you get the idea...

I think that this is there round version...

    Re: xr 400 aftermarket exhaust

I got my one via a friend so don't know how much it should have been. I've been through all of my catalogues and no one seems to list XR400s anymore.

Best thing I can suggest is to contact DEP directly and see if they can do you one, or go to one of the backstreet places that make exhausts to fit your bike and/or adapt an existing silencer to fit.

    I just googled FMF exhausts...
    FMF exhausts - Google Search

    and DEP exhausts...
    DEP exhausts - Google Search

Hope you find what you want.
