Correct me if i'm wrong but surly the dipstick is there so you can check your oil.
Sorry must have read your post wrong thought you were trying to check the oil level straight after changing it didnt realise you had put some miles on it and was then checking it. i have to put in about 2-300ml oil in every 200 mile ride but no smoke whatso ever oil does come out black as hell which i put down to piston blowby cause of which was a drowning on salsbury plain right up untill then i had no oil use and the oil came out almost as clean as it went in but after this it all changed

    The dirty deed

Monitor the oil level each ride probably valve guide seals or a piston ring needs replacingmines smoking aswell not going to bother doing anything to it as it runs fine when it starts giving problems i'll open it up. May be wprth checking the valves but i doubt it will make a difference

Checked valve clearences 3 month ago, uses 2-300ml of oil per ride and runs like a dream. Starts really well too.

So maybe piston rings or valve seals??

Leave it alone then and just keep topping it up
