Fitting some Synchtec heated grips at the moment and it recommends JB Weld adhesive!! Will Evo-stick do the job as I already have this to hand?
If not, any idea who'd stock this JB stuff (perhaps Halfords?)
Cheers

You didn't say which xr you have if it's a 250 or a 400 you'll be very lucky if you get them to work without an uprated stator as there isn't enough spare electric to feed them in standard trim.
However when i fitted heated grips on my varadero and normal grips on my xr i've always used the aerosol carpet glue it's always worked for me with no problems
HONDA VARADERO 99. NWS HUGGER, SCOTTOILER, HARD WIRED GPS, HEADLIGHT PROTECTOR, HEPCO @ BECKER LUGGAGE, GIVI CRASHBARS, GIVI TOP BOX, AUDICATOR BRAKE TEXT UNIT
GASGAS TXT250 PRO 2006
MITSUBISHI L200 WARRIOR 2004 IN BLACK
Its the 250 with a button Jason. It is in standard trim as far as I know but will deal with that prob if it pop's up. Just trying to get these grips back on at the moment.
Thanx for the prompt reply M8.
Cheers

Mu8st be a reason but I cor see why grips need to be hald on with glue .
Whenever i fit em I use hairspray when its wet it helps slide em on when it dries out they are stuck firm .
Same here Kes just fitted heated grips to my xr all i done was wrap the elements around the handle bar (they come with 3m glue just peal and stick) then hairspray inside the grips and slide them on i always use stainless tie wire though but have never used glue in 28 years of riding bikes by the way the heated grips are fantastic don't know how i managed without them![]()

JB Weld is the dogs b u know when it comes to epoxy type stuff. I have been a fan fir years - you can repair the inside of a cylinder head with it and it stands the temp!!!
Halfords used to sell but not seen it locally for a while. U can get it from motor factors. It is serious stuff though - if you ever had to remove the grips you would have to file the remains of the JB! It is that strong and hard.
If youvdo use it perhaps just a couple of thin lines twice down the bar. Would be enough.
If you fail to get some I have some you could use.
It's a 2 pack mix thing - 2 tubes. Sets quicly but very slippery for 5 mins so I suppose that is why they recommended it.
How is the xrv?
2000 Black and Gold with MRA Screen, Motad Venon Exhaust + Custom Stainless Ankle Guard, Bagster Tank Cover, Dash Clock Cover + 12V, Facet Fuel Pump, Givi Crash Bars, Givi Pannier Rack (Modified for Stahlkoffers), Givi Top Box, Stahlkoffer Panniers, Pro. Mod. Seat, CR Footpegs, Michelin Anakee 2 Tyres, Sat Nav., Hel Stainless Brake Hoses, K&N, Headlamp Mesh - oh! yes. Huge Nut attached to Handle Bars
Cheers Guys.
The @T's beginning to take shape Angelo. Got the frame powder coated and the front end back on. Waiting for the engine now, as the parts only arrived the other day.
Been doing a lot of cleaning rust off the steel parts and spraying with Hammerite 5 year stuff.

You should have told me you had them ,i will pop up and help you fit them Give me a bell in the morning
I to think jb weld is good stuff maybe not as good as the manufactures say themselves but I have used it to successfully repair a hole in a clutch cover after the break pedal went through it during an accident years ago never leaked or cracked. I think you’re only supposed to used it for the heated grips if there are air gaps between the handlebars and the elements as this can cause the elements to burn out![]()
B&Q had a whole bunch of 2-part glues last time I looked + JB.
Cheers
