frame number is normally stamped on r/h side of headstock. Some times it can be covered with powder coating / paint. a bit of emery cloth will rub coating /paint away to show it (if its still there).

engine number usually on left crankcase below gearlever shaft, .. . . . . or top of r/h crankcase behind cylinder (can be obscured by exhaust pipe)

Oh, . .and welcome to the forum.

Frame numbers are always vertically down the righthand side (normally) of the steering stem between the top and botton headrace bearings..

Engine numbers on my xr are down by the front sprocket

    Re: Frame Numbers

You can insure the bike on the frame number, if it's been rubbed off you'll have to get a 'Q' plate for it. We'll need more info & pictures. Would be suprised if it's an XR200, rather rare! Have you found the numbers??

It should come under 'classic policy' so should be easier. I have mine with Carol Nash. Lots of others do classic insurance.

    Re: Frame Numbers

sorry for the late reply but have been offline for a few days,
I have checked the frame numbers and it is a genuine XR200, i am still waiting for Honda UK to get back to me regarding the year of manufacture, but we think it is a 1995 import.

Found this web sight very useful.
