    UK Tyre MOT Advice

Hi guys, this is aimed @ the UK riders could you advise me on what spec the tyres need to be for the MOT ?, I have looked @ my rear which does have a round circle with E8 in it which I think means it's OK for UK roads and the 8 denotes where the tyre was made...Yugoslavia I think also has DOT 6JY2 which I think is the US standard and year of manufacture ?.
Now the front is a Volcanduro VE-35F but doesn't have any marking apart from size, question is how will I get on with the MOT station ?.
I think the law has changed on tyre specs and they have gone away from the tread pattern area size must be bigger than the gaps bit to just being marked correctly.

It doesn't have to be E8. The number after the E indicates which country the tyre was made in...

The last time i had mine mot'd it had full on moto-x tyres on it. I didn't fancy changing them for an mot and then change them back so went to test station to ask a hypothetical question. The answer i got was "get some emery cloth and rub the " NOT FOR ROAD USE OFF " then coat the side wall with as as i'm not allowed to rub it off. It worked bike pased mot no problems and has done ever since

My tyres don't say Not For Road Use I just needed to know if the E in the circle ment they were road legal I mentioned the 8 as its in the same circle as the E . I will have to have a ride down there closer the time and ask the station will be easier can always swap wheels with my friend for the test.
