    Speedo drive

The speedo has packed in on the XR I tried a new cable, but still didnt work. When I took the speedo gearbox off the front wheel to have a look the nylon insert seems to be ok and meshes with the worm gear and when turned by a screwdriver I see the piece the the cable connects onto spinning.
I was going to get a new nylon ring but on phoning David Silver they say I have to buy the whole unit at a cost of £79 &post!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
To top it off the speedo on the Transalp also packed in yeterday, is this stuff made out of toffee!!!

Why don't you if possible (dont know theTA system cable or electronic) put the speedo drive fron the TA o the XR and then fit an Acewell or Trailtech to the Ta. I did have a spare speedo drive for xr here the part where the screw that keeps the cable in has broken i'll look if i still have it and you could do something with it your welcome
