Turn signal indicator light flashes constantly

I recently bought a 2001 xr 400. I took it out in the rain tonight and found that when i wasn't indicating to turn, the blue indicator was flashing anyway. Not as bright as when the indicators are on.

Is this some kind of warning signal?

I'd really appreciate some words of wisdom.

hi,
the blue warning lamp is for your headlight high beam indicator. i would have a look at the connectors behind the headlamp. also check the contavts in your handlebar switch, it sounds like you have a short between some of the conections or something simillar.

Yep main beam light that is, as above check connections and spray some wd40 over them and into the switch gear on the bars, should be a real simple fix mate.
