XR600 Clutch Case

When changing the oil on the XR I noted that the front oil filter housing cast in nut bit (love being able to describe stuff) has split.

Now its a mag case so wont weld, so:
how easy is it to get another case?
is it worth getting another case cos they all do this and it doesn't leak?
will and XL case work and if so whats the thingy above the kick start thats blanked off on and XR for?

Magnesium will weld...albeit with care, but it can be done.

+1, i split the case on my old xr400 by over tighting my oil drain bolt, but i found a good welder who did a superb job at repairing it!
