xr 400 renthal enduro high bars

Just got some renthal enduro high bars for my xr400, and I'm struggling getting things to fit, mainly the decompression lever.
The cable's now seems to short, no matter how I route it, any one else fitted these bars, and came up with a solution?

And welcome to the site. We normally meet in the virtual bar, where questions are very often asked over a pint or two of some throat lubrication. While you're getting me a pint of Fullers London Pride please, i'll help you to solve your problem. I have a set of Renthal Enduro bend bars on my XR400, & have had no problems with the compression release lever cable getting to the cylinder head. But then my bars arn't the 'High' ones that you state that you have...but I do have some inch spacers under the bars so's to make them taller, without having to change the bars for a higher bend. The compression lever is on the top of the bar, rather than under the bar as I have seen on others XR400s.

I would have the tank off & see if there's something snagging the cable, &/or check the routing of the other cables to see if they are getting in the way or not.

Thanks for the reponse, I can't seem to get a shorter cable run, unless I run it thru the middle of the tank!

Strange one that as I use high bars and 25mm risers and have no problem

Prob the best thing to do is get a cable kit from Venhill or similar, and make your own cable to the length you want, your's may have been shortened at some time.

I had similar issues when trying to fit classic bend Renthols to my XR600.

I have spare throttle, clutch & decomp cables in the shed. When I get out there in a while i'll measure them up & put the measurements on here.

Some pics of the situation as it is at the moment might be handy for us to help with cable routing...

I managed to get a longer decompression cable made last night, which I think seems like it's ok.
Just need to triple check all cables now on full lock, to make sure they are all free enough.
