1995 XR600 or 1988 XL600RM

Been reding a lot latley.
Don't have much choices here in Norway. Been looking at XL600's but a XR600 has turned up. What to get.......

Head and commen sense says XL as this has el start, 2 up, racks, indicators, more comuter fiendly

Heart say and young boy in me, XR as its newer, more fun, more parts, very rare with xr's over hear. However short oil change interval.

I'm supposed to get something "sensible" to commute between work and home, 30km's each way. (this is what I told the wife!)

Decision's, . . decision's.

As the engines are basically the same lump i should think the oil change/service intervals for the XR could be extended if its having an easy life. . . . . the XR is a competition bike so recomended service intervals are based on competition use.

The XL is a bit over my budget, and the XR is newer with better suspension.

We see if I can haggle the price down and go for the XR.

If not I will import an XR400 from the UK during the winter. The 400 looks a bit smaller, more my size.

Well, I'm now the owner of a 1995 XR600R, street legal. Will pick it up tonight.
