Still got oil pump problems

After rebuilding the pump on mr xr 600 with new parts and seals,all tolrances as good as new, then bleeding it as per the manual it pumps when you turn it by hand. When it was fitted to the bike it doesnt pump at all,the inlet oil pipe from the frame has been checked plenty of oil getting through to the casing anybody have any ideas on this 1 as i have just about given up on it.

morning my friend.how are you checking if pump is pumping when fitted to bike,i presume you are just undoing the oil banjo bolt to see if oil is flowing?to prime pump you pour oil into pump inlet and turn anticlockwise untill it flows from outlet.maybe its a duff pump did you check rotor to housing tolerance with a feeler gauge?should be no more than2.25mm and between tip of inner rotor to tip of outer rotor no more than0.20mm.i have a spare xr 600 pump you can have to try if you need it,give me your address and i will post to you free,gratis.!cheers mark

Hi Mark I got the pump you sent up many thanks, I eventually traced the problem to oil starvation, the flexible inlet hose from the frame to the engine looked ok externally but was totally collapsed and rotted inside,to check i cut the ends of and inserted a piece of rubber fuel line between them and hey presto oil flowing perfectly,other problem i have is the wiring to the lights ect,do you know how the rectifier is wired up from the ac alternator
