supermotard wheel on xr 400??

A friend bought some XR250 hubs to try & go the cheap route to SMing their bike. The rear hub's the same for the XR250 & the XR400, so we tried my SM rear in the XR250 swing-arm before getting the work done. But the front wheel spindle is a differant size between the two bikes so there wasn't any point in trying my SM front wheel in the XR250 forks.

From what I can remember the Honda CRM250 Mk1 wheels also fit the XR400...but i'm not 100% sure

Crf wheels do not fit

Are you sure about this? Some says it will work with xr400 bearing and spacers.
Is there anyone that can confirm i'm rigth or wrong about this crf 450 sm wheels??

Spenders Motorcycles at Kibworth near Leicester have a set of really nice, mint super moto wheels for sale. They came from my XR400 as I use it as a green lane bike and super moto wheels were as much use as a chocolate teapot.

I spoke to spenders motorcycles on Thursday as I have a CRM250ar and I am interested in doing a SM conversion as the XR400 wheels are a straight swap. Really nice and helpful, they are in the post as we speak along with the 320mm disk, caliper bracket and a shorter side stand.

At £200 quid a bargain with it!

They are virtually fitted now, just need to get a spacer made up and also fit some snot sticky Tyres

Thanks for the comment, The rims are sm pro, and the hubs are Talon with stainless spokes. I got them from midland wheels about two years ago, they specialise in bike wheels, they built them for me to fit the xr and they suplied the spacers as well. Fitted them with dunlop sticky rubber and it made the bike so so good to ride. Phil.

I really like the idea of Sumo'ing' my XR to give me two bikes in one and seeing yours is enough to tempt me....
