Now that tick a lot of boxes !! 22 litre tank on a FI 660 - yummy - lots of plastic but it might be the bendy stuff like KTM. Love the twin high level pipes - very KTM 990 ish !!

    Very nice indeed.
    2011 Triumph Tiger 800 - "Black Pussy" - MMMM Nice !!!
    2000 Suzuki DRZ400S - "Ol' Yella" - very bright
    2011 Peugeot V-Clic 50cc - "Scoot" - It's my wife's, an enjoyable ride.

    I have a house , but I can't guarantee it's safe !!

I kind of like it. It looks a bit pretty not sure about all the technical stuff but Mr Mabel likes it too so that's got to be bad.

I used to do work for a Yamaha dealer and one thing about Yamaha, they're damned reliable! I always found them pretty bland but can't really fault them.

I like the look, whether it'll tick my boxes for touring I'm not so sure.

    Yes, I likee!

    Re: NEW Yamaha Tenere!

It is hideous! I love it but then again the only other bike i currently own and dont plan on selling is a xtz so I am kinda biased... It would need a bit of work to be a real world tourer.. bugger the plastic bash plate and yeah have to do something to protect that huge headlight..

if it was not a 660 it may be in the running... But lets look at this way.. Surly honda will start to think ...? HEY every one else hase a decent dual sport why dont we????

    Re: NEW Yamaha Tenere!

Oh bugger, and I finally convinced myself my TA is fine, I don't need a new bike. Managed to discount all the other bikes I fancy:

    Buell toooo road and unproven,
    Vara
    toooo big,
    BMW
    toooo much,
    Tiger
    tooo road,
    KTM
could be expensive to service and fix,
Yamaha XT660R to smaller fuel tank.........

Then those £$*^*%$ at Yamaha go and release this.......where's me cheque book!
    F800GS ...broom broom yeah!!!

    Re: NEW Yamaha Tenere!

Looks like an improvement on the R version. Exhausts are a lot less exposed, since they don't run under the engine. Also those lumps of plastic on the side look cheap to replace, if you drop it. Twin discs should improve braking too. I suspect the EFI will have been remapped too, to take into account the different exhaust system - hopefully they get it spot on this time. Having tried the X model, I'm really looking forward to a testride.

Must be some sort of record too - essentially the same engine used in 6 distinct models (4 from Yamaha and 2 or 3 from Aprilia). Apart from Harley of course who have used the same engine since the bronze age
