Must be some sort of record too - essentially the same engine used in 6 distinct models (4 from Yamaha and 2 or 3 from Aprilia). Apart from Harley of course who have used the same engine since the bronze age
Let's see now... VT500; NTV600; XLV600 Alp; XRV650 AT; XRV750 AT (two distinct models); XLV650 Alp; NTV650 Revere; Deauville Mk1; whatever that horrible big 1800cc Honda cruiser is; not bad for basically the same motor, and I'm sure there are more that I've forgotten. Plus it was in production for some 23 years with no major change apart from coolant route.

Blimey yes; when you write it down like that...
imagine the fuss if they ever decided to design a whole new unit that runs efficiently and delivers on some of the promise of the last 25-years of technological developments
RD07a, reg in 2001, Black, heated grips, short screen, Scottoiler, Givi top box and panniers, DataTag, full Riky Cross crash bars, Baglux tank cover, Facet pump, mostly 200 miles to reserve and presently a lot happier since being loved up at Chad's hospital for sick ATs!

lol ok so thats the new tenere, what if i were to say yamaha are also looking at new Super Tenere too!!!

its rumoured to have a new v-twin (possibly the one that was part of the tesseract proto idea, and plan'd to replace the outdated v star lump)....

Well just came back from the NEC today and out of all the bikes I had the choice of dribbling over the new Yam was initially the most comfortable, the BMW F650 was tooo small and the new Alp didnt inspire
The bike I fell in love with mind was the Multistrada

There's more chance of that happening than Honda developing a new Africa Twin... so don't tease us!
It's not the age, it's the mileage...

Speaking to the man on the yam stand at the NEC, price is likely to be £4800 ish! when it's released around easter time.
