    Re: NEW Yamaha Tenere!

I had a xtz660 tenere for a while, briliant bike but it was a disapointment to the old 600 tenere fans, it looked like it was designed in a rush but it looks like they put a lot of thought into this one.

How am i gonna sleep at night now untill i have one?

Must get more clients for my wee courier business then.

Looks good. Similar to a BMW F650 dakar to me. If it has decent suspension and some go I could be keen. Come on KTM, lets see the new single adventurer! Nice to have a choice.

    Re: NEW Yamaha Tenere!

been shed loads of talk about this bike on all the yammy forums for a while, so far i'm not that impressed i have to say as dont think its anything new, i hate that horrid headlight (way to KTMish) and as with all new bikes its plastic fantastic....

the engine upgrade package also worries me as the efi has proved trouble sum on other builds!

not sure if it general release but this the dakar version ( sadly) like the 'Dakar' bmw its got as much to do with the dakar as blackpool rock and donkey's.... but hey why let something as trivial as that muck up the marketing campaign!

I really like it. I've been thinking of buying an XT or an XTZ-R. This looks great but it's a shame the dry weight is 183kg

    Re: NEW Yamaha Tenere!

How much is this thing likely to cost?

Yamaha have got in before Honda & BMW (F800GS anyone?).

OK, it's only a single, but having chased a "H" plated one round some local roads just yesterday, it'll do alright for me.

As for the EFI being a problem on some new machines, a recent adventure to the Himalays! and back on the basic XT660R by a Bike magazine gadgy and his mate proved that Yamaha have got this little machine sorted.

HOW MUCH - I need to know
