Thats my 2p. What do you think Tracker?

    Re: XT660R

Hello guys just joined and noticed my riding buddy is here already ,as for the xt660 there is a load of usefull info on the xt if you go to the xt site www.xt660.com

i have had mine for almost a year and Tracker can back me up when i say it can go anywhere within reason with the added bonus of doing the distances in comfort all you need to do is read some of the ride reports on www.vdsr.co.uk which is a local website in the swansea valley

unfortunately had a bad accident almost 6 weeks ago involving a 4x4 but hopefully the bike and myself will be back up in a good few months

Hi Jasext. Welcome the the site ... sorry to hear about the accident ... best wishes with the healing and mending.

I think that most would agree that the xt660r is worthy ... I know its capable of more than I'll ever ask of it.

Didn't metal-mule sponsor some guy that toured the world on one ... they had the bike (with huge panniers!!) at the NEC 2007 bike show. The bike still looked if it still had a little life in it.

Yes i think Nick Saunders(fastest around the world on an R1 fame) used the xt and loved it but only used it to do Africa or something but still was hell of a ride

    Re: XT660R

Hello Tracker long time no see ,i did have the yamaha one fitted but smashed it doing the sarn helen up to brecon ,so bought the touratech one ,bit expensive but probably the best one around,i have also fitted different cans ,k&n filter and both Kev mods of the xt forum(fork spacers & fueling device)as this helps a lot with the surging.
Chris chip called in last night before the trf meeting with Gwyn to lend me his Niagra pillow so hopefully that will help with the healing .what's happening with the Ktm are you selling it now or keeping it ?

    see you soon

    Re: XT660R

Hi Jase, sold the KTM last saturday, going back to the TTR.At the moment am enjoying myself riding the XT,but i don't think i will take it off road, not as brave as you.Seeing you handle it on some of those lanes also the ride you let me have on it and i was half way to getting one then i had a deal in JT's and that was it
Had a look at the touratech stuff, thats quite a sumpguard, i can't remember yours being that big (sumpguard that is), or did you have the smaller one?
Took a look at Kevs mods don't know if i will go down that road yet.Going
to Grand Prix on Saturday have a look at the EVO brushguards for £49 will
    probably get them.

    Re: XT660R

Why dont you try Terry at www.riderz.co.uk as he can get everything you need and probably a lot cheaper ,as for the sumpguard ,i looked at loads and touratech is THE best one available but ,if you dont intend to take it offroad you will get away with a smaller one ,try the xt forum and post up a wanted add i am sure someone will have one spare for a lot less money than they are new

Good luck and enjoy the xt

    see you soon

Good picture. It seems that you have experience of taking the xt660 for "an adventure". What kind of terrain was it? how was the xt660?

(what can I infer from the fact that you recently bought an AT ?)

In fairness ... I think I'd prefer to have that load on an AT????
