I've just got myself one of these. Gonna go with the Metalmule (scorpion) 2in1 exhaust(355) and cheaper racks but this is handy to see regarding the sumpguard. I will need a different sump guard because once the pipes are out of the way it should allow me to make use of a load more ground clearance (just in case. I'm no serious offroader). The point is that the single can saves a load of 'up high' kilos.

People on the XT forum have said that the MM exhaust either feels better or feels the same. The guy on the forum who reputedly tunes Raptors says that you need two cans to get the full power increase out of the bike but i think the bike would benefit from being lighter (8-10kgs is what they save) and giving more ground clearance first. Remember too that the MM one isn't supposed to be too loud and to achieve than on a single bore pipe suggests it isn't as free-flowing as a two can set up (1x 50mm bore vs. 2x 32 or whatever it is).

I like MM panniers a lot but won't be getting them for the XT. Too heavy.

I wanted the extra ground clearance, but wanted to keep the standered exhaust.
so I bought the jack up kit, cost about 25 pound's and gave me 2inch more clearance .

no not at all.bought off ebay, from a german company.they take about 20 minutes to fit.
They lifted the back of my bike by about 2inch .
I also fitted a set of front fork spacer's from Kev off the xt web sit .

I also removed the snorkel and fitted a K and N fillter ,the bike ride's better now than it did standered

That's a great point and worth investigating if you don't fancy going down the new can route.

dazzerrtw - you off around the world by any chance (rtw)?

Quick question - where did you get your dogbones from - do you still have the seller's name? ebayname?
    Cheers,
