Yep it's confusing as to why they specified wet weight and not dry.. But I suppose we all ride it filled with oil/petrol/fluids

I think the problem would depend on where the weight is carried.
A beemer like the Gold wing is heavy but the weight is low down so it is deceptive.

    Re: 2010 Super Tenere

I have been invited to attend the Dealers Introduction event for the new Super Ténéré on behalf of the Super Ténéré Owners Forum and the business at a private location later this week. I will be a guest of Yamaha Motors UK's marketing manager and hope to get some questions answered from us the potential buyers and report back about the this, the first new S10 on UK soil.

If you have a question you would like to be put forward please see the link below.

    Many thanks
    Jenna

I should also say this is not restricted to S10 forum members but anyone with a big trailbike interest.

    Re: 2010 Super Tenere

just a quick note and update....

many thanks to all those that posted questions.

yesterday I nipped over to the Silverstone Circuit where Yamaha Motors UK were holding the dealer day and got to talk with the guy who is in charge of the roll out of the XT1200z for the UK, we had a long and frank chat (for over an hour!) about the bike, its prospective buyers, its introduction and plans for the future.

First chance I get I will sit down and write an article about the meeting and the XT1200z in the flesh, in the mean time I do want to just quickly clear up some of the simpler questions from above...

Test Rides.... YMUK are in the process of making available demo bikes, talk with your local dealer who can set this up for you in the near future.
Pricing...... As published the UK price is £13,500 for the first allocation which comes with the extras, second allocation bikes will be cheaper (no goodies) and although no price yet has been set I would suggest you expect £12,500 -£12,800.
Development.... this bike is as it is, there are no plans to modify tweak or do anything to it at this time for the UK market.

So that all said I have to say I liked it... its well put together, the attention to detail is good and the design is sensible. The pre-production bike I looked over was Viper Blue with the limited edition pack, cases are akin to those on the XT660x which have good reports, the bashguard was a good fit and made from 3.5/4mm ally, headlight guard nicely finished with what looked like stainless fittings.

I did take some video of the bike which I will sort out to go with the article.

    Jen

Good review in thew Sunday Times today.

Summed up as good bike, decent off road within the limitation of a 1/2t bike, but oooh, isn't it expensive!
