Well today was the day it was supposed to be unveiled. Ive had it a few weeks now and it got stripped down for some much needed love. cabbage said he would come today and help me fettling.............. as Im a self confessed biff when it comes to spannering. However I had the bike ready for Cabbages arrival.
Today fork oil was replaced......... very gooey stuff came out
head bearings were re greased
New air filter... Cabbage says one of the worst he's ever seen !!!!!!
Tappets sorted............. after head scratching
Fire bike up and it dies..... more head scratching and by stroke of luck.... or not... I take off fuel pipe and forget to turn off fuel !!!! the result is a mess of brown watery substance over my drive. The tank is from reserve down full of water and cack. A full strip down of carb is then done by the Maestro himself whilst educating me along the way
Eventually the Tenere fires up, with fresh fuel, and sound s sweet and an oil change is done.... from black diesel type heavy oil to fresh semi synth with a rotten filter... our day is up
So for all of you out there waiting.. it could take a while longer as there is more to do... so watch this space !!!
By the way for any of you who know Cabbage, I for one am pleased to have him a friend............... as he is one of the best I ever have had the pleasure to call a mate.... dedicated and honest... but even his magic could not get it ready for the unveil
This bike better be worth it.... it hasnt cost me a lot but its taking some effort!!!!
Watch this space
