ViewsSW-Motech (RD07A)From Honda Trail Bike WikiSW-Motech QuickLock Pannier Racks for the RD07A The SW-Motech pannier racks come in eight pieces, of which five only normally stay on the motorcycle - the two actual pannier mounting racks are removable by way of 3 fasteners per side. The contents of the kit are shown below: The two parts marked 'A' attach to the pillion footrest mounting points using provided replacement allen-headed bolts. This is the front lower mounting point for the actual mounts (parts 'E') The two parts marked 'B' attach to the front grab-handle mounting point using provided replacement bolts. This is the front upper mounting point for the actual mounts (parts 'E') Part 'C' fits under the rear rack, with provided replacement bolts. This part across the rear of the motorcycle provides the rear upper mounting point for the mounts and also relocation points for the rear indicators. Part 'D' fits across the rear of the motorcycle between the mounts (parts 'E'), with the bend going above the rear light. Parts 'E' are the removable sections that the panniers mount to - the panniers can be either permanently mounted to the D-shaped sections using bolts, or there are various mounting attachments available from SW-Motech (Givi, Hepco & Becker, Shad, etc). The bag marked 'F' contains all the required parts to fit the pannier racks to the motorcycle. Follow the included instructions to fit the pannier mounting points, and the finished article looks like this: The front upper mounting points as attached - doesn't affect pillion passengers: With the pannier mounting points attached, viewed from the side: The pannier racks viewed from the rear - note that in this photo the indicators have not been relocated as yet The racks are attached to the mounting points with spring-loaded fasteners (similar to Dzus), which can be turned with a coin or a screwdriver. SW-Motech make a locking replacement, if required. This mounting system, to keep close to the side of the motorcycle, does sit the panniers quite high, as the bottom of the right-hand side sits just above the level of the standard exhaust (see photograph above), and is symmetrical, so could make a good choice for plastic panniers (H&B Juniors, Givis, Shads etc). |
