Hi Everyone, A quick question: if I've connected the optimate to the bike using the accessory socket on the instrument panel, does the ignition switch need to be in the "ON" position? Purchased the adapter to connect to the socket because it saves having to pull the bash plate off... It's an...

  11. Varadero
( Recently posted on Varadero International Forum) Hi, I recently got my Varadero and I'm quite happy with it. One issue I have is with the accessory socket. The dealer installed it in the small lockable compartment, below the handle bars. Unlike the Europian model, it's a cigarette lighter type...

Probably not the correct forum for this, but never the less. I've been talked by friends in to doing local enduro's on the xr. Haven't really done any in the last couple of years. The Saab used to get bogged down in wet mud, grass, any thing slightly damp as it had too much power hence it...

Hi, folks. Going to fit an accessory socket under the seat - pondering about where to take the power from. I could connect straight to the battery (in-line fuse in the lead to the socket), but a switched supply seems like a good idea - maybe picking the power from the back light circuit...

...I suggest you go for wider pegs. See picture - original on the left. I've just fitted IMS pegs which Jim Rowley (on this site) sent me from the US. Mine cost $105 which is about £61. They are almos twice the width of the originals and VERY grippy. Took me about 15 minutes to fit, but only...
