Hi, I've been living in Thailand for the last 14 years and just recently returned to the UK, but still making regular trips back to Thailand whenever I get the opportunity.
How long I'm going to stay is anybody's guess and at the moment I'm looking around for an XRV750, I have my eye on...

What´s your plan for 2017?
Our "list" for next year: a short trip over the Alps in early summer and from late September on for the rest of the year through Spain and Portugal.
Where are you going to ride in 2017?
Cheers

My last bike (600 Alp) and my new AT both have tubed tyres, and it was always in the back of my mind "What happens if I get a puncture?"
I've literally no idea how to change the inner tubes, even though I must have watched a dozen You Tube Videos on 'how-to'. Plus, I really dont fancy the...
I'm just getting my XL700 ready for a big trip down through France, through the Pyrenees and then back up through the Alps, well that's the plan at least!
I'm going to put some new tyres on for the trip. Currently I have Tourance on which I am happy with. I was just wondering about whether...
I may be going to have a couple of days in the Alps in September, on my way back from Croatia. I'm definitely considering taking in the Stelvio, as I've never done it. But I know there are a million brilliant roads in the Alps, so what are the other tarmac coated passes I shouldn't miss out on...
I've just returned from a trip to the Alps and my chain has stretched a lot to the point it now needs replacing.
I've kept it in pretty good shape since I got the bike in Feb and think it's the bike's second chain (despite only having 7k on the bike when I got it). I assume the stock chain...
Hi.
Got a small group of us going to the Alps in summer.
Where would people suggest staying? I was thinking of using chamomix as a base and doing trips out from there. Any other recommendations?
Cheers
In 2012 I posted about a round trip to Romania - and never got round to posting any photos :(
Well, we went back again this year and I've finally managed to post some photos etc. here
Once again the Transalp was perfect - but I guess you already know that ;)
Other than the 'mods' mentioned...
Girlfriend is entirely, comfortably, happy with pillioning about on the 650 Transalp …
… that we’ve done a few laps of Sicily upon.
But, Transalp 650, two-up with luggage, will take its own sweet time on the tedious motorways, autoroutes …
… and autostradas between the interesting...

I am on Holiday.
Life ;late;y has been 'complicated' selling a house, buying a house in Swansea organising a new workshop on the Gower, meeting a lovely woman. Having ym bike stolen last week was the icing on the cake of confusion.
But I am now officially on holiday.
On Saturday I...
Forgive me as I have sinned.
Checked the Alps oil 'tother day & it looked darkish, checked in my service record - September 2011 it was last done. Oops!
It seems that I have been so preoccupied with meddling with the shinier stuff coming & going that I have been neglecting Old Faithful.
Oil...

If all goes to plan I should be doing a round trip of around 3000 miles starting from the UK in August. I would like to ride across the Col de la Bonnette in the alps because the gps co ordinates are part of the Transalps paintwork. I've not been to Slovenia before so any tips will be well...
Hi all,
Just posted a wanted message for Alp Handlebars, found some on ebay from a 1987 Alp, they do look like my 1996 Alp bars, but not sure.
Does anyone know if the bars are the same for all 600 Alps or are there differences????
Appreciate your help everyone :D
Hi all,
Its that time of year when I start to 'fiddle', usually ends up be asking for help :D And guess what? Help please !
I never really liked the massive bush / hand guard things.......
So, took them off. Are there no bar weights on 600Alps? Whats been left behind.....:(
Basically...
If my information is correct the Col de la Bonnette is the highest asphalt Pass in the Alps, between the South of France and Italy? It's also, I believe, the GPS co-ordinates on the tank panels of the Transalp 700? Now I'm fairly new to this forum and was wondering if any of you more experianced...

If anyone wants to join in on whole or parts of the ride, let me know. I will be passing through Germany on my way there.
I am also looking for tips...
