Hi guys, I wanted to restore the white paint for the dashboard light controls (Fuel, High-Beam...) of my RD03 (and I would not mind to do the same for the RD07). I thought my patience would have been enough but I found out the characters are too small for free painting, even with the thinnest...

Hi all, my XL250S has started blowing the dip filament as soon as it is turned on. The main beam is fine with no issues. When I checked with a multimeter I found the white wire has continuity to earth when the lights are switched on. Has anyone any ideas what might be causing it or what to...

  7. Varadero
Just got back from a ride to Belgrade, Serbia. It was nearly 40C in Budapest on the way and I made the mistake of blanking off my dip beam with black tape. The tape got hot and cracks developed in the headlight lens. The Vara is a late FI. Any suggestions as to who could supply a used or pattern...

She just doesn't want to take 90% of the time. Squirt some WD in there and she's fine for an hour. I've heard tale that inside the switchgear is a maze of spings and things that are a bugger to get back in place so I'm reluctant to open her up. I'll give it a go I guess but in case it's...

As the title, when I'm driving with a dipped headlamp sometimes this will switch to mainbeam when I change gear. This will only last for a second and reverts back to dipped once the gearchange is completed. It does not happen with every gearchange and can occur in any gear moving up or down the...

...but the manual is not clear here. To lower the beam, must the adjustment know be turned clockwise or anti-clockwise? Thanks,

Hi, I've got a US Transalp with Africa Twin parts on it. I'm pretty sure the headlights came from an RD04 or RD07. I think these are Euro-spec headlights. Here's what's on each lens: Right: Stanley D01-1981 (02083R20). Left: Stanley 5900 (0240R20), has a "city light" mini bulb in it...

Greetings from tropical and sunny Sri Lanka! I am considering mounting HELLA H13090611 Micro DE Series 12V/55W Halogen Clear Fog Lamps on my RD 07 1993. With my bike headlights on high beam and both Hella fog lamps switched on, will the battery be able to cope with the power requirement? If I...

Hi Our recent purchase (a 1987 600XL VH) had some lights from a Kawasaki stuck on the front for some reason. I have bought an XL600 light from ebay and was wondering if anyone could help with a wiring question. The Kawasaki lights had a separate sidelight bulb at the bottom and consequently...

  17. Dominator / FMX
Hi there, I have bought a pair of CREE spot lights to fit on the crash bars of my Dominator and I was wondering if anybody has done something similar. My question is: how would you do the wiring?. The perfect setup would be to connect it anywhere that would allow the lights to work only when...

A little embarrassed posting this considering how much I've worked on bikes, but help needed. 1999 Dommie. As it says on the tin, no dipped or main beam. Done the obvious, new bulb, tested old one, all good. Checked fuse and tested it, good. Stuck multimeter on headlight connector, no power...

So I bought a new speedo gearbox from David Silver in 2011. Since then the plastic drive has been chewed up three times. That equates to £60 for the gearbox + 3 x £20 for plastic gears. I'm not spending more money on that nonsense. What are some good, simple and robust replacements? A complete...
