Hi folks , just gor home from work and put the oil girl on the side stand only to be greeted with a pool of oil :(
Just whipped the belly pan off and the oil cooler has sprung a leak :(:(:(

i have a vague memory of someone here, using a traffic sign behind the plastic belly pan of the xl650v to toughen it up...can somebody give me some pointers where to find this gentleman?

I just finished polishing the belly pan, and it was bloody hard work, as I don't have a pro polish machine thingy.
Now I'm wondering when I'll have to do that again, with the alu exposed. :mad:
Could I spray it with lacquor?

Hi - I have the Givi crash bars (came fitted) and am looking at the Touratech and SW Motech engine guards, does anyone know if they will fit?
I like the look of the SW Motech as it appears welded as opposed to riveted, but not sure where the top two mounting bolts would go with the Givi bars...
Got every single screw out of the belly plan (all 4 of them :rolleyes:) except the one that bolts to the frame in front of the engine, closest to the front wheel. It's mangled, anyone got some idea's for removing it with limited tools? I tried hacksawing a slot in the bolt to unscrew it and made...
I know this is a greenhorn question..:) But when one put a support under the engine/bike to get the front wheel off the ground when on the center stand. Can the belly pan stay on or must it be removed first?

like many i have had a set of crash bars fitted to the bike at some point but this seems to ahve caused a lot of stress on the front mounting points for the belly pan (the two small brackets welded on to the front downtube).
when i say stress i mean they both fell off !!! :(
