I'm new on this forum though I already spent a fair amount of time reading topics on this forum. But I can't find an answer to this problem.
I own this africa twin RD04-L for now a couple of month it has an arrow exhaust and K&N filter. It has always been difficult to start...
First time poster so do excuse me if I’ve made any mistakes!
I recently purchased an XRV 650 RD03. The bike ran great for my first two weeks of ownership. This evening I’ve gone to fire it up to set off on a multi day trip. It’s not running great with the main observations being:
Hello all I have had my bike for two years now and love it. But the last ride before winter hit 3rd gear on up felt like there was no mid range or top end. I did rejet from stock. according to clymer stock is 42pilot 112primary and 110secondary. It now has 45pilot 120primary and I moved 112 to...
I have just bought a 05 xr125l it does however need a new carb. I have found carbs that will fit and work but none seem to have the heater like the stock one fitted. If I got a
standard carb with no heater will it run ok or so I need one with the carb heater.
thank you :)
My 1994 RD07A is intermittently missing a beat at idle? It does need some carb work and is idleing a little high. But every once in a while it seems to have a little hiccup. There is a mechanical “click” sound then a miss in the RPMs. It’s just for an instant, then returns to normal. This...
A complete set of Honda luggage for 99-02 (carb) Varadero boxes, racks and fittings removed from 99 Varadero XL1000V.
The Honda panniers tuck in closer than most aftermarket boxes of the similar capacity and the pannier racks fit closer around the silencers. The topbox has the Honda...
I have bought an FMX.
Currently I have more important problems solve with it, but in future I would like to at least upgrade exhaust + carb jet + air filter.
I have done exhaust manual rework for my suzuki gs500 in past. I just cut off old can and welded new straight can onto it. Also...
Apologies for yet another possible carb issue / tickover problem post but before I go and take the bike for some dyno time and tweaking I've been trying to make sure everything else is ok.
Work so far including recent work by the previous owner -
carb clean and rejet to 60 pilot...
So the weekend was supposed to be a wife free bike stripping and rough tickover solving couple of days with maybe a cheeky ride out or two.
All started well other than an exhaust valve inspection cap trying to break while being removed but I managed to remove it with only minor damage. The...
I am trying to get a severely corroded RD04 running, The carbs have completely seized and it appears to be due to external corrosion. Is there a good resource available to understand...
Insured, taxed and dragged out of my brothers pigeon loft where it's been resting since early September last year (shocking, I know...) after a 24hr charge, dust the bloom of, kick the tyres, prime the carb & she started first prod.
Yay, great to be back out on an Alp [emoji41]

Sorry folks, I'm asking for help again.
I'm going to hopefully be cleaning and stripping the carb this weekend and while its out i will be replacing parts as i go.
Does anyone know the sizes of the carb manifold clamps for both the air filter and inlet manifold rubbers? I would try and...
I've tried searching but haven't managed to find a definitive answer. Is there a direct replacement carb that would fit a 1999 nx650?
I was going to strip and rebuild mine as it's got the usual tickover issue but if there is a better replacement that could be used I may well just go...
New owner saying hi - fuelling help
I picked up my first 1999 nx650 Dominator this weekend after many years of sports bikes and wanting a change to something with a bit more comfort and adventure in mind. It's not my first thumper as I owned a XT600 after passing my test but being so...
Does anyone out there have any experience of fitting a Keihin FCR41 Flat Slide Carb to a Dominator? I was told by a carb specialist that this would be an improvement and a little more power.
If so, how hard is it and what would I have to do .?
Thanks in advance
During our move a box has been misplaced :(
Now I have time, space and money to start this rebuild.
A lot of xrv rd04 have been broken for parts but no one seams to keep the little things !
Pricing these small items new, very expensive.
I have a PD10 TA 600 with the helmholtz resonator but I also have the carb feed pipe off a PD06 without it, which one should I fit?
Is it likely for emissions/economy/performance or to take a tone out of the exhaust note?
From here (2004 - he's in Australia, I think)
Now that the dust has settled on the new 650 Tranny, these are my observations and experiences thus far.
The engine is feeling...
Help needed please!!!... ;-)
I've spent 5 years off and on trying to get an old 1996 Dommie working that I got off eBay.
I soon realised that the original engine was fried, low compression, sludge oil, so replaced it with a 2005 FMX engine.
Removed and blanked off the emission system.
