I am Catweasel's brother, here as I've inherited his 91 RD04 - Tim had a heart attack whilst cycling near his home in Vienna on May 14th. Sadly he never regained consciousness and officially died on the 16 th aged 49.
I have just brought his RD04 back from Ausria and will be registering...
A friend of mine, based in Lithuania, has a line on steel cables that can be used to secure items to bikes.
As far as I know, thickness can be 2, 3 4 or 6mm (possibly also other thicknesses) and the length is customisable. There'd be a loop at either end and it'd be shrouded in 2mm...
RD04 tinkering/service - advice needed
So I finally started work on the RD04 today...well, me and Mr.Haynes.
Here's my to-do list..
Stuff requiring removal of petrol tank
check/replace spark plugs (all of them) -
tidy up the garmin cables -
have a general poke around
check out the choke...
A while ago the main (only) connector on the wires that run between the alternator and the rec/reg burnt out. It was just tired I reckon, it's a '91 RD04 so it's time was up. Anyhoo, the local version of the AA managed to get me back on the road (or rather away from the side of it) by sticking...

Anyone care to express an opinion as to what's going on with the battery compartment here?
It's real messy with some weirdly placed fuses. Figured I'd post here before start tinkering and blowing stuff up.
