Hello people. Long time no see, etc. Not been around here in yonks due to, well, life and things like that.
You know how it is.
Anyway, I finally got to the point where I have admitted I am never going to live anywhere with a garage where I can rebuild my old RD04, so I think the time has...
Right then, I've done heaps of mods to my 2000 Varadero over the years & tbh I fell out of love with it about 18 months ago.
I still really like the bike & would never sell it, but I just ran out of ideas with the too soft rear end.
I tried lots of things, first was jackup plates with the...
My brother is selling his Africa Twin RD07 1998 which has done 54,888 kms or 34,300 miles.
He bought it off a mate in France so has kilometre clocks but it has been reregistered in the UK.
It has been very well maintained and has things like the head bearings and swing arm bearings stripped...
Has anyone out there got an un-wanted centre stand for a 600 Alp (mines a '98 model, but earlier ones should fit)?
Checked with that excellent source of new Honda parts, David Silvers, and apparently the stand is no longer available.
The after market availability of a stand is very patchy as...

I'm selling my Africa Twin summer wheels, having sadly parted with the AT now :( My bike was an RD07a, but the wheels are the same an the RD07 -- and I understand will also fit an RD04, though the rear rim is 0.5" wider on the RD07.
These were built by George Spence (Cupar, Fife) just before...
Got a 2008 700 TA in december, stuck it in the garage - the Mrs has then filled the garage with crap so I can't get in from the garden and the youngest's car has broken down in front so I can't get in the front, hence the possibly silly question.
Want to get a paddock stand for it (cheaper...
This bike is in better than showroom condition. I have stripped off any corroded parts and powder coated them. Also, changed most bolts with stainless steel, where permissible. Almost new tyres, new battery, re-spoked rear wheel, full service. Centre stand, 2 keys and owners manual. It runs and...

[So... sorry to resurrect the old...
The 650 Transalp (2003, 20K miles) has whining noises coming from transmission under load.
I had changed the final drive chain but did make sure that there was lots of slack before I ran ran it on the centre stand in gear, but not under load to check all OK.
Initial thought was it needed a bit...
