  1. TET North - Anyone tried it on an Alp?

    Transalp
Guess the title says it all; have you Alp owners tried the TET North (Tynemouth to the Lakes area, via Hexham, Alston etc.) Wondering if it's a little too much for the Alp? Eveyone is telling me a CRF250L or Rally // WR250 is the better choice! Cheers D
  2. That was a bit scary/disconcerting.

    Transalp
I just had my first go at logging in using my new smart phone and the tapatalk app, only to be confronted with at least 6 new posts that seemed to originate from me. I quickly signed out, and logged in with my tablet to get the view I'm used to, expecting to have to advise that I'd been hacked...
  3. Rear brake lever spline compatible / interchangeable .... ?

    Transalp
I'd like to experiment with a modification to the rear brake lever of my XL700 Transalp but want to keep my original lever in case it goes horribly wrong! Are the splines the same across the different Transalp models (or any other Hondas)? This would open up the choice of spare parts/price...
  4. Dash Cam Experiences?

    Photography
Hello, fellow two-wheelers! I consider mounting a (double) dash cam on my bike, and I can´t navigate in the jungle - I would rather get tips from experienced people in here. INNOVV seems to be a good choice, but one place it was mentioned that it stops recording for a short period of time now...
  5. Damp Garage or Open Car Port?

    Africa Twin
Hi there, Well its winter again here in northern Germany. Bloody freezing and damp. I have a choice of parking my pristine AT in a damp garage, which I air as much as possible, or under a car port where it will stay dry with no problem with air flow. The bike gets a coating of moisture in the...
  6. Shock choice

    Dominator / FMX
My winter project is coming along nicely and I like it so far The rear shock at present is from a zx6r but I think it is to soft. I have seen 3 other shocks I am interested in. Hagon Wilbers ( no preload) Wilbers more expensive but has a dial( able)setting I know it's a personal choice but do...

    Wheels, Tyres & Tubes
I'm off on a long tour around Europe next year with the misses me on the xrv750 her on a cb500x. I use the twin off road a bit but the trip around Europe will be road, I'm looking at putting new rubber on and what something that lasts on road and off Is the mitas e07 a good choice for the twin...

  10. Bike covers

    Product Reviews
Following on from the excellent opinions on chain maintenance i thought i would chance my luck on further opinions. I used to have an excellent green canvas bike cover for my Sr 500 20 years ago but it appears the choice is more limited these days. Is it oxford or oxford??
  11. A little trailling ?

    Other Honda
I've just returned from a few days in Bruges.... wonderful city, well worth a visit (and the Belgian beer's good too!). the young person's transport of choice appears to be.... ... it's essential that a sporty exhaust can, sans baffle, is fitted! You can hear them coming half-a-mile away ;)...
  12. Reinforced sprockets by stefter

    Transalp
Hi everyone. Due to popular demand, I am starting another group buy for the "world famous" Stefter sprockets. On the last GB we had several of flake-outs. It is not disastrous as I still managed to sell everything, but it just took longer than expected. The next Group Buy will require a...

  14. Transalp 700 spring

    Transalp
I've taken the rear shock out of my 700 Alp and removed the standard spring. I'm sending it to Faulkners for them to make me a stiffer replacement. An off the shelf spring from them isn't an option as the standard one is tapered ( about 3-4mm narrower at the bottom ). Not sure what weight spring...
  15. Newbie

    CRF - New Forum!
Hi all I've been interested in green lane-ing/off road riding for some time now, I'm a seasoned road rider but wanted a winter bike to play on, as I'm new to off road riding and after a lot of internet browsing as to Which bike I should go for, I decided on a crf 250 xrl which I'm picking up...
  16. Choice

    Wheels, Tyres & Tubes
I have been told that the tyres that come with the Africa Twin are rubbish. Can you get them change when you buy the twin? If not what's best tyres to put on, please?
  17. Rode off road!

    Dominator / FMX
Having recently replaced the Bridgy BT45 tyres on my Dommie with a more dirt-friendly Conti Escape, I took a detour off road today. Nothing strenuous, I don't have the skills for it, just some marked Byways around Hertfordshire. Good fun, and a useful escape route if I'm ever a fugitive on the...
  18. XR and XL 250 which parts are compatible? which parts can donate from XR to XL 250

    XL
So I have an XL250R and just realised how bloody awful it is to source parts, so I'm looking for donar bikes that have the same parts list, first and obvious choice is the bigger brother the XR250. Anyone know how similar these two are and if anyone has crossbred them already?
  19. RD03 rear sprocket choices

    Africa Twin
Will I lose many rpm's when cruising on freeways dropping down to a 47 tooth sprocket from a 49 on the bike . I've been looking on site and not finding much about rpm drop. I was hoping for a 45 tooth myself but cannot find one . Also will I need to shorten chain at all for those who have done...
  20. Please, not a tyre thread!

    Dominator / FMX
It's nearly time to get new tyres for my Dommie. No idea how long the current BT-45s have been on there (I've done 7,000 miles on them) but they're well worn now. What's the weapon of choice for road-going inner-tubed Dommies these days? The Bridgies are ok, if a little squirmy going across...
