Does anyone know how to remove the lower triple clamp from a set of ktm 950 forks? I have the bearings off but the steering tube is stuck solid and my finger cant't take another whack with the lump hammer. Also when I get this off how do I fit the adaptor back in?
Hello troops thanks for the previous help much appreciated, now I'm wondering is the front sprocket meant to have some play in it, and what is the correct way round please im guessing the flat side has the retaining clamp as the way I found it other day it had the ridge facing out with the clamp...
Bought a new pair of gaiters for the RD04 and just checked the price on the gaiter clamps / clips - £11:83 each!!!
That's £47.82 for what are effectively 4 thin jubilee clips, for goodness sake.
Needless to say, I shall be looking for alternatives.
Anyone used these? With the cylinder head locating tab in the correct postion they don't seem to allow the clamp/clip with the tab to line up properly. It ends up fouling on the valve cover and slanting diagonally across the rubber. There are two different clamps and I have them installed the...
Right, here's one of those that doesnt crop up too often. Decided to stick with the Honda forks so having a service, new seals, oil, springs, Intiminators , shot blast & new enamel. But one of the four fork studs are snapped & Mr Honda doesn't give a part number anyone had to change one??
does anyone have the torque settings for the following on a XL650V-6;
Steering stem nut
Fork yolk bolts
Brake caliper bolts
Front wheel spindle clamp nuts
and anything else on the front end that I've forgotten :D
No matter what I do with it, after about 50 miles the gear lever on the 650 FX vigor loosens off on the gear change shaft.
Tried cleaning out the clamp gap with minature file, using different bolts materials with various Loctites and still loosens off.
Still changes gear but I want a solution to...
Can anyone recommend where I can get a set of standard size piston rings and a ring clamp for my RD02.
I just did the valve stem seals and re-lapped the valves so I may as well do the rings as the base gasket was included in the top end gasket set I bought.
Having looked at a schematic of the exhaust system on my 98 600, I was expecting to see a clamp with two bolts which I could loosen and then separate the two parts so I could slide on a shiny new end can. However, as you can see this is not the case. Am I missing something?
Have just done a quick check, and true to form, the exhaust clamps have rotted almost through. Have managed to get some replacement ones from my local quickfit in the correct size, can anyone tell me the correct torgue settings for them? Thanks
As per the title, I urgently need 2x the upper half of the OEM 7/8 handlebar mounts and, if you've got them, the 4 bolts too (but they're not critical).
No need to post to Australia! I'll ask you to post them to the guys at Rugged Roads who will be shipping a box of goodies to me soon.
A quick inspection pre-MoT revealed that one of the three bolts protruding from the bottom of the right fork to take the clamp plate around the front axle has sheared. Consequently the clamp plate is secured by the two others and the remaining bolt which screws into the fork.
Is there any way...
