Hi to all,
I would like to ask what the recommended valve clearances for FMX 650 are. My net research gave me two outcomes: (1) 0.10 (intake) and 0.12 (exhaust) +-0.02 (like in XR650L, Dominator etc) , and (2) 0.10 +-0.02 for both intake and exhaust valves (see here...
Title says it all really. Looking at my 450X with standard wheel and enduro tyre, there's not a lot of clearance between the tyre and the chain. Thinking about fitting supermoto wheels and wondered if the wider tyres run into chain clearance issues. Anyone done this and can comment?
I'm new here and have recently bought a 1997 Dominator in relatively original condition. I've just been sorting our a few bits before I'm going to strip it down and build a scrambler around it.
It has started making this loud tapping / clicking sound that can only be described as sounding...
I've just been checking the valve clearances on my XL700 and I've hit an issue.
The rear cylinder was all okay but the front was so out that you couldn't even insert a 0.05 feeler gauge. I adjusted the valves to the right settings and checked several times that they were correct before...
One only. Guy asked me to make one & sold his bike in between!
200 x 100 overall with long edges folded back 22.5 degrees.
Mounting holes are clearance for M6. Made from Stainless Steel with brushed polish finish.
Stand off bushed will be needed but suggest using oversize nut or similar.
This is my XR400 which hopefully will take me to the Sahara later this year, but not before I check the valves and cam chain. Does anyone have the valve clearances and any special info I may need. It has the standard decompression lever.
Thanks in advance
I put a laser produro exhaust on my RD04, and now I have lots 'explosions', 'bang's when I'm iddling, every 5 to 10 seconds.
The 'explosions', 'bangs', 'pressure waves',... do not occure when I'm throttleling or in a regime, but are more frequent and louder/harder when I have my choke...
Hi all, I have fitted Givi PL148 pannier racks to my 1993 RD07 Africa Twin. I now find that I am unable to remove the left hand sidecover in order to access my Scottoiler reservoir and the fuses. At the closest point, there is only about 1cm gap between the cover and the rack. It doesn't matter...
Good Evening all
Just watched a http://youtu.be/0U8wYB1QQNc where the guy quotes 2 different clearances 0.003 and 0.005.and in the comments there seem to be yet more differences.
My manual for after 03' [L6] says 0.003 for both IN/EXH .
Has anyone else got reference to two clearances,or,like...
Hi, just having my 1980 CT125 rebored, (same as XL125), I can't find the recommended piston to cylinder clearance in my (Australian) manual. Can anyone please tell me the required clearance measurement.
Hello there, newbie here :):blob7:
I bought a month ago a TA650 (~53k on the clock), as I got bored of the thumper i previously had and wanted a bigger, more reliable bike.
Now the bike didn't run smoothly when I got it, struggled a bit between 4k and 5k and the idle speed was all over the...
I have a 2001 XLR125RW and I've tried to find a manual with no success. I've got the bike running but its not starting up well and the tappits sound noisy.
Does anyone know the valve clearances for this bike? And the spark plug gap?
Need these urgent as I'm supposed to be doing my cbt on this...
Here is the video of my noisy RD07. I changed camshaft tensioner becouse of this noisy sound, double check valve clearance, check exhaust gasket.
Is this normal sound. Firend of mine said that probably its crankshaft bearings or something with valves....?
I need you opinions before i...
We expect that you guys may have noticed, but at Opies we are currently having a bit of a spring clean on several of our product ranges. The most recent candidate is Amsoil - Our remaining Amsoil car and bike lubricants are now heavily discounted, you can find the full range available...
Having just been quoted 6 hrs labour at £60 an hour for a 16K service, I ask is it worth having valve checks on a low revving back, hardly a supersport
Any one done it themselves , any tips?
2006 A6 Vara with 16, 500 on the clock - I should have it taken off me for scandalous low use
can anyone please confirm correct procedure to check right hand exhaust valve clearance.
do I check at top dead centre or slightly after due to auto decompressor.
I set it at the T mark but still have a lot of noise and wonder if the auto decompressor was still lifting the valve.
I have read you...
