    just agreed to buy a 97 RD07a with 20k on the clock, needs a bit of tlc and a few things put back to original, but nothing too major. One very happy individual.......deep joy! was great to jump on it today and have a spin around, felt like an old pair of shoes....very comfortable. pictures:

    Wheels being replaced on bike and a general tarting up is on the cards, The whole backend is covered in scottoil. What's the best thing to remove it all, that's kind on plastics. The panels also have deep stained road dirt and grime on them, what's the best for restoring then back to new...

    What's the weather (and more importantly the ground) like just now? I'm coming down on Thursday to do the BMW off road skills doo dah and I'm just hoping it's not knee deep in show. While snow is fun it's a bit limiting in what you can actually do off road.

    From today Lidl have their battery charger / conditioner on sale again at £13.99. I've had one for 3 years now and it does everything the much more expensive ones do and more for much less. 6v and 12v batteries, maintenance mode (optimate type thing) and can recover deep discharged batteries...

    Well,I had my first crash on the XR650R today.Took a turn up a very muddy track through a wood.Very deep mud with very deep ruts,tractors I guess.One wheel each side of a rut and feeling good,I opened the throttle,spun around in the opposite direction and I ended up on my back.Oh! what joy.I bet...

    Just a quick note to introduce myself. Have been restoring and riding Harley Davidson MT350's for a few years, got bored with that and have now bought three 1997 ex army XR250r's. All were none runners and in a bit of a state, had great fun over Christmas, focused on one and got it running...

    Ok - so I have now made the spark plug recess flap -which works really well ....... And I had hoped this would stop my bike dying when going through large puddles. Took it out for a test run and even though the recess isnow mud free - the engine still dies when going through deepish water...
