Searching for new downpipes for my 79 XL250S and so far found one supplier David silver, are there any other makers of exhausts for these? or what have other people done when they rust through?

Please would somebody give me an advice on changing the exhaust downpipes?
I'm always worried I may shear off the lugs that screw into the cylinder heads when I'm undoing the domed nuts holding the flanges.

Had the exhaust off to replace the clutch some time ago & now the bottom two gaskets are blowing. It has a Remus end can on so the question is will the downpipes be oem or are they different to fit the end can? Had an oem exhaust replacement gasket with the clutch kit which was way too big..

have bought a xl600 downpipes that seem to fit quite ok

Having looked at a schematic of the exhaust system on my 98 600, I was expecting to see a clamp with two bolts which I could loosen and then separate the two parts so I could slide on a shiny new end can. However, as you can see this is not the case. Am I missing something?
taken off my NX at 8K miles as I bought a new system . Cleaned and sprayed with 2 coats of heat resistant paint then stored. Generally VGC .

Washed the slr this afternoon decided to start it up and make sure the engine was properly dried out before putting it back under wraps again, left it running stationery outside shed, it was getting dark, came back 10 minutes later and someone had started painting the downpipes cherry red

Set of 650 downpipes and subchamber going to whoever wants to come and collect them.
Pipes are sound but missing the front connecting clamp (which joins the front downpipe to the rest).
Fit nicely into a rucksack (I bought them back from Bradford on the bike) which can also be supplied.
