My 600 (1987) developed a flat spot this afterrnoon, around 4,500 revs she bogs down momentarily before picking up again. It feels like fuel starvation, except that she'll then shoot round to the red line with no problem. So, given that 90% of carburetor problems turn out to be electrical...

Hi all, Wondering around Tesco like a zombie as usual, I stumbled on this - Garmin Drive 50 LMT Travel Edition with Worldwide maps at £85. I know it wont be water proof and fiddly to use perhaps, but at £85 its a shed load cheaper than a bike Nav?:thumbright: Anyone tried this out? Perhaps in...

if you are in the throes of cultivating some err.. homeopathic remedies in a store room within a publicly accessible building you would at least think it would be a good idea not to leave the door wide open. I spotted this earlier today :)

Still sticking a cb125 engine into an 125k. From the alternator on the cb I've a yellow, pink and white wire. Anybody have any idea how they should map to the black, white and yellow out of the XL alterrnator please? I have been looking at wiring diagrams for about 3 weeks and I am totally lost.

Hi everyone, i notice there is no forum for Derby bikes, but i believe they are owned by aprilia, so i hope this is the right place to put this post. Could anyone please tell me how to get the back wheel off a Derby Terra 125. I thought that it would just pull backwards out of the frame once...

  9. Bikes For Sale / Wanted
wanted a seat or seat base from a RD03 or RD04 it matters not as they are identical. So I can build an alternative seat for me and the missus when we go touring, and keep the original one well err original. The orignal being flat a slightly down pointy makes her slide forward when attempt a...

If anyone has fitted the extra brake lights to their topbox, then they'll know that the power connector is not exactly, err, brilliant especially considering that it has to cope with a 2 Amp current flow. The alternative that I present here uses a much more robust (and conventional) plug and...

Noticed this the other day after getting back from my folk's place in Anglesey - That's the clamp holding the silencer onto the "hot-box" outlet and shouldn't look like that. Here's what it looks like form the other side - Yep, that clamp is clamping no more - it has rusted right through...
  12. Transalp
Sounds an odd question, but... Whilst lubing the clutch and choke pivot I noticed that there is a switch on the clutch, err, what does it do?
  13. I'd like to introduce myself....................
Hello. Right, that's the formality out of the way :) Been lurking for a while since making the decision to buy a 700 TransAlp ( which I've now had for a couple of months ) and figured it was time to surface. Getting the TA was a return to the fold - bike history going back in time is...

Hi all. My name is Dylan and I'm a confirmed @ lover. Just back from 10 days in Spain with my buddy Matt, our first motorbike tour, which I enjoyed tremendously (for the most part). Headed straight to the fabulous Picos de Europa first. It was just like being in the Alps really. Very green...
