Discreetly watch second bike TA 650 going though its MOT and I know that chain brings out worst of tester's OCD as it was marked as loose in advisory last year. I know it's in perfect condition and correctly tensioned but for him it's a fail for too slack. So he kindly gets the tools out and...

Hi all, I am getting a bit nervous. Seems I have a gearbox issue. Fail to shift in 2nd --> always goes to neutral. The bike is called Shinereay X5. Its an XR400 Motor Clone. What I checked to far: - clutch is good, disengaging properly - shift star is good (can shift through all gears...

Has anyone replaced both the top and bottom steering bearings on their TA 650? My one will fail the MOT evidently, so looking to replace them myself. Looks fairly straight forward. Are there any major problems with the job. Be great to hear from someone who has already done this. Regards Pete

Is this a known issue with the AT? Noticed a puddle on my garage floor, been dreading finding out the cause but it just seems to be the rubber gasket. From what I can see it looks fine though and I'm confused as to why a fairly durable looking gasket could just fail suddenly. Best pic I...

Just a heads up. I have seen several sources suggesting there's a recall out for the vfr1200f & X bikes, aparently the UJ in the shaft drive can unexpectedly fail resulting in locking up the rear wheel! The first reports of issues came several years ago so Honda haven't exactly been quick off...

Hi, From what sort of mileage is the OEM Reg/Rec likely to fail. I've just bought a 2003 RD07 with 18k on it and was wondering is my bike already in the danger zone ? Thanks for any advice, :thumbright: Neil

So I've got a drop of oil under the bike, looks like it's coming from the pipes from the oil cooler into the oil pump under the sandwich plate. It didn't leak before the engine rebuild and I don't want to over tighten the bolts for fear of ruining the allen heads. Is there an o-ring in there...

Hi all, The maintenace of the bike continues.....has anyone had any problems with the high/low beam sticking when on high beam and trying to depress it to low beam. I have taken it apart and nothing apparent causing it. Obviously there is a channel on the underneath of the red button to catch...

Coming back from MOT today(fail) the DR kept dying on me. Now, I haven't really ridden it since I rode it back from Lewisham, so I wasn't familiar(I am now!) with the on/off positioning of the 2 fuel taps so I made sure they were in different position so one at least had to be on....full choke...

Morning all, bike has always made the conservatory have a slight smell of fuel, since I bought it last year, but I put that down riding the bike into the conservatory! Last week my fuel tap, or should I say "Lever, Fuel Cock" (thanks Lutin) came off in my hands. I have ordered a new one that is...

So, I appologise now for a lack of picytures in this, although further evidence may be unearthed over the next couple of weeks! The plan: do some work in July, have a holiday in August, then spend a couple of days sorting the bike for this year's Dawn to Dusk. Plan worked well, very well, up...

I've an XL1000V2 that's coming up to 29K miles. Is there a problem with the fuel pump on carb models and, if there is, when does it usually fail?
