Hi Lads I fear that im having CDI issues with my 96 reg 600 alp.
She is stuck in the shed at the minute until i find a replacement.
My CDI seems to be the single type but it seems harder to locate a spare. Why do some of them have two separate CDI's instead of a single one.
Any help appreciated.
Any recommendations for off road type foot pegs? Many that I have seen are wider than the oem, and I fear these will interfere with my big foot and the shifter. When I added off road style pegs to my KLR650, I had to install an extended shifter to make shifting as comfortable as before.
Hi, the front scoops on my bike are currently odd. 1 is blocked off, the other is open.
How is it supposed to be ?
by scoops i mean the cut aways under the front lamp on my 1996 Transalp.
Could I fit spotlights in there without fear of disrupting airflow ?
I have just taken off the front sprocket (non-genuine by the looks), and I fear I have a worn output shaft. Here are a couple of photos, can someone who has experience with these tell me if I am right? I haven't another to compare it to...
If it is what I fear, I gather I need to...
Seems all the original spec Tourances are now made in China & not the Fatherland
Are they ok, grip wise in the dry & more importantly the wet :)
Jap Dunlops from yesteryear put the fear of god on me, still after 30 years
Are the China Tourances ok ???
Let's have your views :)
So I've got a drop of oil under the bike, looks like it's coming from the pipes from the oil cooler into the oil pump under the sandwich plate.
It didn't leak before the engine rebuild and I don't want to over tighten the bolts for fear of ruining the allen heads.
Is there an o-ring in there...
Yeah my AT oil drain plug is too tight and i can´t get it out. Sure i can get a bigger spanner/lever until it comes out but i fear i might risk cracking/damaging the pan.
Last time i´ve changed the oil was at my local Honda dealer. Guess the guys there used more torque than the recommended and...
Coming up to MOT time again and I fear that my brakes might not pass. The discs are well worn. (Checked them last year and they were less than 3mm!) If the old girl has got another long trip in her then I think I should replace the discs. Has anyone any experience of 'cheapie' replacement...
Apparently this was on Radio 4 earlier today - No Brakes, No Fear - An insight into the intoxicating thrills of British motorcycle speedway.

Hi Guys, My RD07a has developed a rattle when throttling off at low speeds or when riding at low constant speed, eg, maintaining 40mph, the rattle disappears if I open the throttle and accelerate. I fear gearbox problems:sad: Any thoughts?
I must say i had today one of these very rare days where i was really happy to push my bike into the garage and close the door with absolutly no desire to get on it again soon:(:(
