Hello all. Hoping to pick someone's brain as I have no idea. Got a 2001 vara with 38000 miles. Used to be be my pride and joy until she let me down Basically she runs fine, idles fine. But when stationary and goes to pull off it just feels like it's going to die with no power until you rev it...

I am rebuilding my 1987 TA and having taken loads of pictures as I was dismantling it, I seem to have missed this one. When fitting the sprocket carrier hub it doesnt appear to go all the way in. It feels as though it has gone as far as it can but would appreciate if someone could let me know

Hi, just installed this weekend manual cct on my Dero. The bike feels smoother at idle but rolling it seems a struggle a little or could be just placebo I dont know. Should I turn off 1/4 on the mcct? will be need to put the engine at TDC? cheers

Hello lads. So today I found that my RD07 has a new trick up her sleeve. Cruising to a stop in first gear and then wanting to tap up into neutral is impossible. The gearlever feels well and truly welded into first gear. Cut the engine and she slides into N like butter. Am I missing something...

Hi guys I'm really enjoying riding my twin been in all sorts of terrain but after an hour on the stock chair my ass feels like its about to explode. How can I make the long rides on the saddle easier on my ass? P.s I dont have money to buy a corbins aftermarket one. What material can I use...

Does anybody know if the Japanese import RD04 is a full power model or not? Certainly feels like it compared to my XLV750R. Any specific model changes to the rest of the world?

Finally got the bike back on the road today, don't know if it's the exhaust note that is tempting me to open her up more but the bikes feels like it's got more grunt. Obviously a service helps and the fact that I'm fairly pedestrian normally but the rasp of the new exhaust and I kept noticing I...

Hi, I have had the carb cleaned(by JRS). Once the bike has been started and warm and i am riding down the road ,it feels like it is holding back .If I open the throttle it improves a bit, if I put the choke on that helps also. Do you think the needle height is wrong? Wayne

Something not right. Have checked fuel pump is working and fuel is all OK. Balanced the carbs very recently so should not be that. Feels mechanical rather than fuel. Engine was rebuilt 6,000 miles ago so what might need checking and adjusting?

Hi Folks, I'm in the process of replacing the speedo plastic gear thingy and have hit a bit of a problem. The old isn't in too bad a condition and slides in and out of the housing no problem but the new one slides in so far (I've given it a good greasing) then feels slightly stiff. I'm...

What's the fork oil volume in an xl1000 ('02 plate), and what would the standard oil weight (is that the right term) ? Carrying me round it feels a little soft, I think I'll go up an oil when I get it done.

Hi folks, My trip meter isn't working, it records about a tenth of a mile every now and then ( more then than now ! )or when ever it feels like . Speedo's still working. Any ideas ? Cheers

I hope I'm describing this right but my Dommie sometimes feels like the rear wheel is buckled. this bizzarely only happens when it's under power, if I pull the clutch in it feels fine again. I thought it was the Cush drive rubbers but I bought new ones and when I went to replace them the...

I have this piston and barrel that came with some bits I bought on the underside it is stamped 102m which I assume is the size(big bore 669cc) however the piston crown has 4 valve reliefs does this mean if I fit it will it just bolt on ? I looks and feels as if it has never been used help in...

I have just fitted one of these stands to my 2000 varadero, I needed it to fit a new chain and sperockets. It is great, it fits well, is easy to use and feels solid, just what I needed. Steve

I am enjoying my new transalp xl700 but never having had a v twin before i wanted some advice. When i am pottering around on back roads at about 45mph in top at 3000 ish rpm am I labouring the engine. it feels a bit lumpy but maybe thats how v twins are meant to feel or should i shift down to 4th ?

I saw a Vara for sale the other day, an '08 model with 6,000 miles, showroom condition for sale the other day, and took an immediate shine to it. The guy offered me a good part-ex on my '06 Vara, so the deal was done! Although you'd think it would be almost the same as my old Vara, it feels...

Fitted a new front a few hundred miles back, last one doing circa 8000 miles. I can't get any heat into it, not even slightly warm. The back gets warm on the 35 mile run into work, mixed M-way/A-road and back roads, but not the front. Feels OK though. Any views?
