  1. Alternative Facet fuel pump

    Africa Twin
Question for the gurus please. I found this Facet pump: "Facet FEP04SV Posi-flo Electric Fuel Pump 1.5-4 Psi Includes Clamps fittings" The psi is 1.5-4 and flow is 25Gph. Will ot work as a replacement to the oem pump?
  2. Fuse box question

I am going to fit heated grips powered from a piggy back relay at the ignition fuse. Which is the load side of the fuse box? ie. does the battery flow into the fuses from the front side of the box or the back? Sent from my Nexus 10 using Tapatalk
  3. New oil pump?

    Dominator / FMX
Just wondering, has anybody thought about fitting a new oil pump as part of a high mileage service? The top end seems to be the part that lets go first on these engines and since it depends on oil pressure and flow to survive I was thinking how would it be if the oil pump was replaced at say...
  4. Fuel leaking from breather/drain pipe

Just noticed I've got a drip of fuel from one of the breather pipes. When I started her up the drip became a steady flow. I'm guessing something has given up in the carb. Fortunately its booked into workshop on Tuesday. Any ideas?
  5. Radiator - over-filled expansion tank

    Africa Twin
Typical noob mistake I guess - I noticed the coolest was on the low side - just touching the minimum so off I went and bought some more, poured it in, thought I was being conservative but nope - over-filled (see pic).. First thought - as the bike heats and the coolant expands it'll flush out of...
  6. Helicopter heros

Today at 11.30 Ian Coates will be featured in helicopter Heros after he fell through his barns floor and had to be flown to hospital. Got to be worth a laugh:thumbup: He is now , his words " Fit as a butchers dog" now BBC1 11.30:thumbleft:
  7. Scottoiler Connection.

Good afternoon gent's and ladies. The other Scottoiler thread reminded me of something. The Scottoiler on my bike was already fitted when I bought the bike, it is connected to the vacuum pipe for the fuel tap. It seems to be working very slowly i.e. it was half full when I bought the bike and is...

  9. SLR 650 carb tube???

    Dominator / FMX
Just bout an SLR 650 because I felt sorry for it, the previous owner was just starting to strip it down, I have put most parts back on it and the bike runs however there is a tube coming off the carb that I am not sure where it goes, if anybody could help it would be greatly appreciated. the...
  10. Tigger combo in Cardiff

Minding my own business mowing the lawn this morning, when a Tiger and chair went past. Just don't see combinations these days...... was it anyone on here? (Oh, and a DC3 has just flown over... it's turning out to be an interesting day!)
  11. Fuel filter for 650

Was thinking of installing an inline paper fuel filter (Mahle KL13) to my 650. Anyone installed such filter? Flow of petrol is reduced? Don't want to cut original fuel hose to accomodate filter and then find that it's restricting fuel to a point that carbs will be starved of petrol. Fuel hose...
  12. Fuel pump supply/switching (RD07A)

    Africa Twin
I have a facet fuel pump on my bike, fitted 2007 and has been faultless for around 30,000 miles. Just a couple of questions: Does the fuel pump supply switch on with the ignition, or only once the engine is running? Am I right in thinking it is simply on/off and there is no feedback/sensor...
  13. 2009 CRF250X Exhaust question - will a CRF250X Single End Can/pipe Fit?

    CRF - New Forum!
Hi Guys, First post here I have just bought a CRF250X9 2009, it has the standard can. I don't want a noisy can, but feel a pipe with better air flow might help performance a little and sound better. Would a 04 -09 CRF250X single pipe system fit? I know a 10/11/12 one does not because I have...
  14. Scott Olier query

During the recent cold weather I had to increase the flow from minimum as oil stopped flowing. While this has worked I noticed that it is only oiling the links of the side where the nib is situated and not all of the chain as before. The nib is still in the correct postion slightly above the...
  15. XL650 Fuel Valve (petcock)

Hi, I was trying to remove the tank yesterday and the vacuum petcock was faulty and didn't turn off the petrol flow and fuel p*ssed all over the garage floor (and me!). Are these prone to faults? Should I get a new one or replace with a conventional valve? Thanks ........ Steve
