    Chatter
So, the latest wheeze from the UK governement* is that road tax will no longer pass to the new owner. From visordown - Vehicle tax to no longer carry over to the next owner. Nice little earner! * Non use of capital letter is deliberate. And I do know that it is not "road tax". :D 100%...

  9. Let the panic buying of fuel begin...

    Chatter
The car's nearly empty so I was going to fill it up as I need it tomorrow. However, I see everyone in the area has heeded the government's recommendation to panic buy fuel and there are flocks of morons squeezing £4.87 (actual amount may vary) of fuel in their cars to brim their tanks. I think...

  12. Government advice on climate change requires fuel duty cut

    Chatter
According to the Stern Review, which the Government cites when it wants new "green" taxes, fuel duty is currently too high. The essence of the argument seems to be that if tax levels are too low then people produce too much CO2; but if tax levels are too high then they are more damaging to the...

  15. Government bans off road motorcycle events

    Chatter
It's a small exageration to say the government has banned off road bike events. What it has done is prevent any farmer getting subsidy if they allows off road motorsport to take place on their land, even if it's just one amateur trial. Many farmers cannot survive without subsidy, and those...
