I bought one of the last Varas in 2014, made in 2011 I believe. I’ve done three long European rides (3K to 4K miles) and it’s been brilliant. It’s now done nearly 41K miles and in preparation for another long ride around Europe I’m thinking I should change the rear shock. Just looking at Haynes...
1 x Africa Twin XRV & Transalp Haynes Manuals
Hi guys & gals, As I have now sold my last XRV I have two spare Haynes manuals, 1 is almost as new and the other has been used but no damage. £15 each including postage to the UK (cheaper than any on ebay etc)
John Haynes creator of the Haynes Manual has passed away at 80. Thankyou and your tech writers...don't think I could of split my AT cases without you.
TA 650 (probably applies to all models though)
For anyone thinking of doing this..on the 650 its a bit of a job.
The Haynes manual says you just "attach the lower end of the new cable to the upper end of the old cable, and just pull the cable through", yeah, right.
What it fails to mention...

Fuel tank and side panels resprayed. New Motobatt battery, fuel pump and indicators.

I need to remove my exhaust to fit the centerstand and so bought these

I'm working on a friends RD07 which he's trying to "bring back from the dead".
Long story short. The original engine blew (or got blown) and he bought a new one from a stripped down bike.
His bike is a RD07 XRV750 T which has onepick up/pulsar coil listed on the Haynes wiring...
I want to do a compression test but can’t find the right PSI number for my bike.
I have a Haynes Manual and that shows the numbers for the XRV750 and transalp but not the xrv650,
I also have a manual for the xrv650 but it says 28 PSI and that’s not right.
Can anybody tell me the...
I'm about to tighten the nuts holding the exhaust down pipe to the cylinder head on my 2002 RD07A. My Haynes manual tells me that the torque setting should be 27nm (or 20 lbft), which strikes me as a bit high considering that I've just done the same job on my CB1300 and the torque setting there...

Hi, my 16 yr old XL650 has a strange noise coming from the front cylinder bottom. It is audible when hot at idle rpm, it goes away when the rpm increases. The noise is NOT sharp(high pitched) like regular tappet noise , mine sounds like lightly knocking a hard object with a medium-light hammer...
I just found a Haynes workshop manual for the 78 to 84 Honda XL/XR 250 and 500 while I was mooching around on my book shelf.
You can have it for free if you want it as long as you send me 500 teabags to Denmark which cost about a fiver and another fiver postage.
Its in great condition...
Hi, Recently bought an XL650 V6 with only one key, got new chipped keys cut & adapter lead to program keys but cant find ignition pulse generator wiring connector under the tank area as specified in haynes manual. Has anybody a picture of where this lead is to be connected on the XL650 V6 please?
Is there a easyer way to set the mixture on a 125cc?
Going by haynes screw the pilot screw it in until it seats then back out 2 3/4 turns then adjust to find highest consistent idle speed then screw back in to drop idle speed 50 rpm then back out 3/4.
And you need a rev counter with...
Hi. I bought a 2002 Honda fx650 vigor. The piston was knackered. So I got a new barrel and piston (2nd hand) and removed all the old piston from the engine. It has 75-80psi on compression. And the valves have been set to 10mm? What ever it is in the Haynes manual. It semi fires. Goes to around...
