I'd like to experiment with a modification to the rear brake lever of my XL700 Transalp but want to keep my original lever in case it goes horribly wrong! Are the splines the same across the different Transalp models (or any other Hondas)? This would open up the choice of spare parts/price...
  2. Dominator / FMX
I have no idea if this has been posted before, but, imho, its impressive for a Dominator and in same bike colours as mine too :) Website below Honda Dominator

https://www.morebikes.co.uk/44181/gotcha-hondas-next-wave-adventure-bike-revealed/ And whilst this motorcycle doesn’t ape back to the glory days of Honda’s early Adventure motorbikes like a Transalp or an XR, it does ape the styling and key selling points of that original German bike from...

I mistakenly bought a tank, it was described as fitting an XT600 Yam, it doesn't - Its an Acerbis Tank and has 1835 stamped underneath, 18L twin taps, and it was described as fitting as a Honda XL600 - though I'm not sure what year, I think 88 ish. Here's a pic - the one I have is in black - and...

Bimbled up the south Suffolk coast to DS via Bawdsey Manor (hush hush WW2 Radar develpment place), Orford, Aldeburgh, Leiston, Orwell Bridge and Pin Mill... Wrote a stern note in the museum's comments book complaining about lack of a representative Firestorm & SPs, Africa Twins & Transalps...

  8. Dominator / FMX
sorry if this has been covered elsewhere but I have just aquired a dominator engined sidecar,it seems that a solo was used as a donor bike. The wheels are definitely dominator but the front one is 17" which may be fine on the road but i want to use it green laning and would like to change to 21"...

I have been restoring and rebuilding old Hondas for many years - mainly SOHC4's. Now is the time to have a project with a XRV650 RD03 from 1988. I have the opportunity to buy and 1989 AT XRV650 RD03 with 91000 kms on the clock. I have absolutely no experience with XRV's og XLv's so before...

I've searched the forum but can't find a definitive answer. I'm after some hand guards for my RD03. I'd like the perch mounted ones as handlebar space is a bit tight. I've always thought the originals look a bit clunky, but more critically even David Silver want £71 plus delivery for a pair. Can...

Hi all, just picked up my new bike from a friend . I believe it was sold to him from somebody off here . After that sale my friend fitted a new clutch , cables ,service and had the carbs stripped rebuilt and balanced . He then set out across europe on it last summer . Unfortunately his trip got...

Hello I wanted the forums advice on a choice of smaller bikes for touring. Being retired I don’t have time constraints, the desire to go fast and I need to think about economy. My favoured choices just now are both Hondas a crf250l and a xr125l I am 16 stone and would be carrying perhaps...

Shock, horror! My TA had a problem yesterday!! Honda's reputation was in tatters. One of the rear indicators stopped working. A blown bulb, I thought, but as I jiggled it, it started working again, so crisis over and Hondas reputation is intact ! If only other manufacturers could match it.

Another podium for the boy. Lets get Scott Redding in there and give em a couple of Repsol Hondas? Shame about Bradleys finger. That looked nasty!

Last Friday, I was coming back home from the west, travelling in my vectra between Kyle of Lochalsh, Glen Carron and Garve. After hooning around the single track bit ( gotta love that section :thumbright: I got onto the long straights before Achnasheen. Looked in my mirror, saw a long line of...

hi all, being a Bank Holiday in the UK today and with the sun shining - what better to do than a ride around in the country side. Glen and his Africa Twin came up towards my area to explore some of the local lanes and byways... here are the 2 ladies in question: most of the lanes were dry...
  18. Dominator / FMX
hola, re-greasing the swing arm bearings and possible fitting a grease nipple ( why isnt there one as standard?) is next on my list. i have heard some hondas have pre-loaded bearings needing a special tool to remove. does a dominator have that or just old school bearings and spindle. thank you.

Don't know how these forums work particularly so am risking a "New thread"? Had/have an issue with the @ misfiring popping and now running like a 350.
