has anyone fitted a louder horn to the 650?
i know there are plenty available to buy, but... the space where the horn is located is a bit tight so i am not sure which ones will physically fit
(although i do realise i am only one of about 6 people who use this forum!)
Currently building a street tracker from my old FMX.
Just re assembling it and yesterday had all the idiot and horn working. Come back to it today and have lost the horn and neutral light ?
Can’t find any duff wiring etc and visually checked the fuses.
Any suggestions ?

I have a 1978 XL250 with an electrical issue i cant work out.
My neutral light and horn will only work when the brake light is on.
Also the back light isnt working at all.
I have changed the rear bulb and checked the inline fuse...
Do you need to keep a regulator rectifier wired into the bike if you are not having lights horn indicators etc?
New to this whole wiring business on motorbikes from what I can figure out the wires coming from it are for lighting mainly apart from a green which goes to earth and a red that goes...
I noted this today from the wiring coming out of the horn switch.
Any suggestions on how to fix it or whether it needs fixing?
Some friends suggested heat shrink tube or sugru. Would highly value your take on it.
Has anyone fitted a pair of snail horns to an XL700 Transalp?
If you have, any pictures of where you managed to squeeze them in?
I'm trying to fit a pair, my old horn has gone quieter, but I really can't see where they'll fit.
Some kind chap just flagged me down and escorted me home with no rear lights at all either brake or rear light.
I noticed the sidestand light is staying on, is this linked?
it seems odd for both filaments to go at once, I have indicators and horn so it looks unlikely to be the fuse.
Hi folks, I bought an ex mod 1996 XR250R,
I've had all the mot work & engine work done, the problem is the lad cannot sort out the electrics on it to take it for an MOT, what happens is, the lights work, the indicators work the horn works, but not all at the same time, if I have the lights on...
Dead Dommie, no lights nothing. Batt 12.8 volts disconnected. 2 volts connected with ignition on. Drops to 1 volt if i press horn etc. is the battery duff or could something else be causing this. Cheers.

Howzit, I've got a second hand 2000 twin, recently having problems with the ignition
After inspection of the wiring I found that some wires has been cut and hanging loose
two brown wires and a yellow one
All other wires has also been cut and just twisted together, got the problem solved,

I have a problem with my 08 700TA. The fuse marked STOP/HORN keeps blowing, causing the stop light, horn and indicators not to work. I dont know what the indicators have got to do with it as they are on another fuse and that fuse is ok. and when you change the horn fuse it all works...
