I’m a Newbie from Düsseldorf, Germany and own my XL600R PD03 now since 36y’s. By this way I like to expand my range to British XL600R riders. Here is a 1st impression of my old bucket: . http://www.honda-xl.nl/forum/download/file.php?id=11542
  2. Africa Twin
For the CRF1000L Africa Twin, I have been reading that damage to the frame may entail complete frame replacement, as there is no rear subframe. In addition, I get the impression that the Honda oem accessory bars, are just that, and not implied by Honda to be crash protection. If this is the...

Hi folks just back from my first long distance tour 2500 miles around the coast of Ireland one thing that has left an impression on me is the discomfort I have been in due to the shape of the seat on my 650 Transalp. Does anyone know of a replacement seat similar to the Africa Twin Enduro style...
  4. Dominator / FMX
Thought i should say hello to everyone. Bought myself a bike i have fancied for nigh on 30 years, a 1989 nx650. Took for its mot today and she passed with flying colour, after the test i went on a 30 mile ride over the mountain, first impression ? absolutely BONKERS FUN:blob5:. Cant wait to get...
  5. Varadero
I've a 2005 Varadero 1000, newish to me — lovely bike; rode it down to Italy two or three weeks back. The couple of times I've had it out since, it's struggled to start. My impression is that the longer it's sat in between rides (week to ten days thus far), the less oomph the battery can...

Good afternoon gents. Here's my question: For a few days now I'm noticing my AT RD04 a bit unstable while cornering on tarmac, at speeds around 100 to 120 kms/h. At first I thought it was due to the rear wheel bearings. In fact they were already a bit "slack". However, I have replaced them by...
  7. Transalp
I was out for a run couple days ago, bit of motorway, B roads and some off road. I noticed on approach to junctions as i slowed to a stop the front brake seemed to grab and release as the from wheel turned. At speed to was not noticeable at all. there was no vibration, the pressure on the brake...

Hi Guys, I'm getting a bit desperate I've had my bike off the road for 2 months now, in search of an appropriate engine. I've got the bike at a shop and they tell me the only viable option is a new engine, as far as I know, my engine number is: HM-PD06E-41 Anybody know what other engines would...
  9. Other Honda
Took my recently acquired NC700X for its first proper run today, Sandwich to Rye and back, mostly cross country with some A roads and and bit of M20 thrown in. Surprised at the mpg - nearly 82mpg and that was riding normally, changing up at around 3000 rpm which is fine on this low-revving...

Garmin Zumo 660LM or Tomtom Rider V4/5, this is my dilema although I like the sound of the new Tomtom although I have yet to read an independant review of one. Has anyone on here had any experience of either unit? I like the idea that the Garmin has a 3.5mm jack and an mp3 player built in, on...
  11. Suzuki
Hi all, anyone got some useful insights into a DR 650? all day comfort, stiing on a motorway, economy, robust in a drop, quality of finish, all that kind of thing would help. Thanks

Now that just about everything seems to be on youtube how about posting up old TV adverts from when you were young that left an impression on you (good or bad). I can think of a few but as a very young and impressionable 10 year old the stupidity of the woman in the Playtex 18 Hour girdle just...

The time has come for my Transalp 700 to need a new chain. - but I'm a mite unsure as to the number of links required. Pretty certain it's 118 links - the official Honda Shop Manual says "Standard Links: 118 links" - but the DID and RK part numbers quoted just below in the Shop Manual give the...

Whilst sorting out the comics in the loft prior to next weekend jumble at Shepton Mallet (3rd March) I found these tests of TA vs Elephant, Super Ten and GS100 (Superbike Jan 1990) and TA impression (What Bike April 1988)

Had a first ride Yesterday on my AT. Done 202 miles on a trip around Kent-Sussex. Well, the bike is more powerful then I thought, it pulls like a train :happy6:, the mpg is very good also 18,5 litres for 202miles:thumbup:,the suspension calling for adventure off-road. Well done Honda:)
  19. BMW
I took an F800GS out for a test ride today on a mixture of motorway, city, B-roads and unpaved track. I came back from the test ride with a nice big grin :) What a superb piece of kit. It goes where you point it. It's got nice amounts of torque (obviously no match for an R1200GS - but good...
