Hi does anyone know how to repair the mileometer on my 98 Transalp, the speedo works perfectly but
the mileometer doesn't. I have replaced the complete instrument panel with one I bought off e bay but
that one doesn't work either. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks
Been doing a bit of research but no luck as yet, looking for an accessory bar for the 650 TA. Specifically a high bar above the instrument cluster, behind the (tall/touring) windscreen. Keep the sat nav higher up in view.
Does anyone know of anyone who has made one/seen one/bought one...
I have an electrical problem which is getting progressively worse.
It started off not wanting to start on the odd occasion - unless i turned the lights on and then off again - then starter would run.
then it did it all the time. Have to flash the lights before starting.
Now indicators wont...
Nothing to do with cold weather!
On the back of the headlight surround on the Dommie there are four nuts set into the plastic, into which the instrument / surround screws go. They're like short brass barrels with a threaded hole, and they're machined / knurled on the outside to help them grip...
Some of the bulbs have blown and I'm considering replacong them with LEDs - which enables me to pick a colour.
I'm aware that red is least detrimental to night
vision but is also one of the hardest colours for seeing details.
For those of you who went down the coloured road, what colour did...
Hello AF riders. After I crashed my bike last august and had an early and bad end to my season I'm now trying to find parts.
It is an RD04 90 model.
I need all the plastic covers and side covers at the front off the bike.
Looking for new indicators back and front.
New speedometer clock (maybe...
Hope you're enjoying the festive season.
Wondering if anyone has replaced the standard bulbs on the instrument panels to LED?
I find my instrument panels quite dark, so I'm considering upgrading the bulbs to bright white LEDs to make them stand out more.
So I bought a new speedo gearbox from David Silver in 2011. Since then the plastic drive has been chewed up three times. That equates to £60 for the gearbox + 3 x £20 for plastic gears. I'm not spending more money on that nonsense.
What are some good, simple and robust replacements? A complete...
Just got my '97 AT running really beautifully, and went and had a 85mph head on with a bloody fat pheasant on Saturday. Why did I make that last overtake!? Why didn't I have another ***? Bloody gutted and not an experience I wish to got through again, felt the suspension actually lift on...
Hello all ! ... it's been a while ! Are we still contributing the the site upkeep ? Anyway, I guess we're still allowed to call on the vast amount of expertise the forum can offer ? The XL650VY has been idle for about a week. Rode 5 miles to a garage for a fill up. Put the key back in after...
I realised my head and side lights didn't work the other day so have checked the fuses (all fine) and replaced both side and headlight bulbs. The side light now works but the headlight doesn't. Not dipped or full beam. The blue 'full beam' instrument light doesn't illuminate either when I try...
Help. I'm due an mot but my bike has decided to not work. The problem I'm having is the horn sounds weak checked and only have a couple of volts and the tail light goes dull, the instrument panels din. So I guess there's a fault some where but not sure where to start. It seems intermittent. Some...
Is there an easy way to access these? The Haynes manual basically has you stripping the whole top fairing. Is it not possible to remove the shroud around the instrument cluster and reach behind to gain access?
1999 model, has a separate cover that sits on top of the headlight, held on by 4(?) plastic hooks.
Unfortunatley it blew off whilst bike being transported on a bike rack for the first time :), didn't think to strap it down!!
Anyone know of a cheap aftermarket replacement, can't seem to find...
